Default Beware of this Room - Valor 6365

Room 6365 on the Carnival Valor gets a lot of noise from the casino when they have bands or a performer. We had three people in the cabin, and we got very little sleep for most of our cruise due to the noise issue.

On the fourth night of the cruise, they had a very loud band playing so we complained to the guest service desk. The next day they offered to move us to two different rooms since they had none available that could hold three people. We decided to see if the noise would get better the fifth night, but it did not. In fact, we could hear music past 4 a.m. For the last two nights of the cruise, we stayed in the replacement rooms, but they let us leave our stuff in our original rooms so we didn't have to pack twice.

We still had fun on this trip, but it was not relaxing at all. We all left the ship feeling exhausted. So if you value your sleep, avoid room 6365!

after I saw your thread... I checked my room # and whew! we are way forward... thanks for the heads up. We (3)have a room with pullman pulled out bed....... it is hard not to have fun on a cruise ship but lack of sleep is not on my list of things to miss.. The Balcony Babes(no hubbies) are ready to have some fun April 11-18th...

Thanks for the heads up...I too checked the deck plans and was relieved that we are forward over the fun shops instead of the casino!

Wow, you mean you're not going to have a class action lawsuit and a press conference and let everyone know how awful Carnival is? You just used the commen sense approach and took the spare rooms? Amazing!

You are fine where you are located-= you are above the casino which should not get noise. The band sets up right outside the casino bar. And this band does not start until 9pm each evenings. Some evenings can be worse then others--depending on the passengers.

cabins in the general vacinity of 6383 - 6361 forward will get noise- depending on where the cabin is will determine the amount. Being directly over top will get a lot of thuimping

We were in 8225 which was a great location.

However, our balcony light didn't work. I never worried about it. But one of our tablemates happened to be next door to use and it really bothered him (no light on the balcony). Evidently he called several days and was finally told that they disabled the balcony lights in that area for the glare from when the bridge needs to watch for things. It really bothered my table mate.

Again, we had no issue at all and never bothered to even call. But I'm now curious if someone stays in that cabin/area if they can confirm that.

Balcony lights are not supposed to work on ships- It is a navigational issue.

Some work but most dont.

Then why have them? Or do they let them work in port? Once I saw it wouldn't come on, I never tried again.

The third couple at our table said their balcony light worked fine.

Lucky me just ended up next door to a balcony on Legend whose light worked, every night, all night long ......until a note magically appeared in their mailbox asking them to turn it off so others in the area could enjoy the stars at night. Much easier to see the stars & water without the light.

most ships have left port before the night comes-- but it is a navigational issue. You will see some work, some not- onenight it may work and another night it wont.

Notice ships out at sea with you-- you will see some lights on and some off- (you also will notice one side being one color and the other side another color.
This shows other ships their whereabouts- The port side of a cruise ship is marked at night by a red navigation light. If everyone put their balcony light on the other ships would not be able to see what direction the ships are heading

im trying to remember what we were told about the lights.
