Default ROS - Ocean View Guarantee

Hello RC Cruisers!
This is our first RC cruise. We will be on the ROS departing San Diego Jan 22.

We have booked an Ocean View Guarantee. From browsing the board and my general research, I have seen cabins that have a window that look onto the Promenade. That is, it appears that the window in the cabin looks into the middle of the ship, rather than onto the outside of the ship? I've seen people talking about being able to watch the parade on the promenade. I've also seen the thread about the Ben and Gerry's Sweet that is partially blocked by the cows and looks onto the promenade on the inside of the ship.

I have a couple of questions please.

Is my assumption correct? Are there cabins with windows that look into the ship, rather than out onto the ocean? Do we run the risk of being assigned one of those cabins? In my mind, that cabin is an inside cabin, even if it has a window. Perhaps RC defines it as an Ocean View because it has a window?

We booked Ocean View, because I love having some natural light come into my room during the day. Do we risk being assigned an inside view cabin?

Thanks for your help!

Rhapsody Of The Seas doesn't have a Royal Promenade. so no cabins with views into the center of the ship. Promenade cabins are actually considered inside cabins. So if you booked an ocean view gty, you will be looking out onto the ocean Oh and Rhapsody is a fabulous lady. You are going to love her

Ocean views have windows to the outside. Promenade cabins have windows to the inside....That's why they're not called "ocean" view....no ocean!!!
Can't help you with the Ben and Jerry's suite!

Neither does Radiance of the Seas which is the RCI ship departing San Diego on January 22.

To the OP, while using three letter acronyms is fun it gets quite confusing when you have Rhapsody/Radiance, Majesty/Monarch/Mariner, etc. It's much clearer to just use the ship's name.

The initial poster will be on Radiance of the Seas and not on Rapsody of the Seas who is "Down Under" this winter.

In our book Radiance of the Seas class ships are the most beautiful ships in the fleet and you will have great enjoyment of your outside stateroom. All the outside staterooms have large windows towards the ocean. When you look out you will really see how fast the ship moves.

Hi,

We will be on the same cruise. It should be a great time and there is a roll call thread here on Cruise Critic: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=988317

To answer the questions:
I think you have one of the Voyager or Freedom class ships mixed up with the Radiance of the Seas. There isn't a promenade or promenade view cabins on Radiance. Don't worry though you will get plenty of outside light from the oceanview cabins. Also; IMO you have booked one of the most beautiful ships at sea. There is more glass and sea views on this ship than any other that I have sailed. It is gorgeous and while it's big enough to have almost all of the amenities the use of glass always lets you know you are at sea.

I can't wait to sail her again.

Take care and I look forward to meeting you on the roll call and hopefully onboard.

Mike
