Default Just booked 1st cruise -- a couple questions!

Hi all.
Reading the boards has been a HUGE help. I just booked my first cuirse this past weekend. It will be our honeymoon and we are super excited.

I booked up on the Destiny leaving Miami on 3.22.10 for 5 nights going to Grand Turks, Half Moon Cay and Nassua.
If anyone has any must do's at those locations- please let me know.

Question is if i find coupon codes or a reduced fair between now and the 48 hour prior to sailing mark- I call my rep person at Carnival correct for credit? Am I understanding that correctly from the posts I have read.
What if I think I have found a coupon code that my apply?

thanks for helping!

If you find them on line, try to take a screen shot to preserve the "evidence" then you will be asked to fill out the form with the details, then you should get a response either way within a few days..

First, congrats on the engagement and on your first cruise...

If you booked Early Saver and you find a cheaper price, there is a form that you need to fill out online. I am not sure of the link to the form, but I am sure one of the many wonderful people here will post it.

Half Moon Cay is a beach day. I hear that the Cabana's are great, but have never had one.
Grand Turk - I did the Flowrider in Oct and it was awesome. I will be doing it again.

We did this itinerary in Feb as part of a back to back. We will probably be doing a Back to back to back on the Destiny next Oct.

Just to clarify, you can only get rate reductions if you booked Early Saver rate. (this is after final payment, or as you asked up to 2 days before).

Before final payment you can get any rate reduction you qualify for no matter which rate you booked.

The only thing I could suggest from experience would be in regards to Nassau.

If you are interested in visiting the Atlantis Resort (The place w/ the awesome water park, aquarium, casino and hotel) you can do it for a lot less than the ship sponsored excursion. I don't know what Carnival charges for it, but we were on Disney last year and it was $165 each. You can book a room at the Comfort Suites Paradise Island for around $200. They give you wristbands that give you access to the water park at Atlantis.

It was definitely worth it for our family, since there were 4 of us.

Have a great trip and congrats on your upcoming marriage!

Carnival Conquest - December 2, 2007 - 7 Night, Montego Bay, Grand Cayman & Cozumel.
Disney Wonder - January 8th, 2009 - 3 Night's at sea/4 Night's on land, Disneyworld, Nassau & Castaway Cay.
Celebrity Mercury - October 5th, 2009 - 4 Night, Pacific Northwest Anniversary Cruise.

Congratulations on booking your first cruise and also on your upcoming marriage.

Here is the link for the Early Saver request form.

If you booked through a Travel Agent then they will need to fill it out for you, if you booked through Carnival, send this form in and also call your PVP to verify the reduction and put it in the notes on your booking. It will make it a lot easier.

We had 10 of us in Half Moon Cay and rented a cabana. That was the best time I have ever had, way worth it. You get your own munchies, snorkel gear, floats, cooler and shower. If you're thinking of renting one make sure you do it right when you get on board because they sell out right away. That was the first thing I did when I boarded - went right to the excursion desk and a lot of people that didn't get one wished they had. Just and FYI.

This past May we did the Dolphins at Atlantis. It is a bit pricey but it was an experience of a lifetime. They are such neat creatures and it was fantastic

We read someone's advice on CC and snuck into Atlantis early in the morning. Don't do that! We still couldn't use the swim areas. Also, Nassau is not attractive when you get off the ship. Make a plan - book an excursion and get away from the dock area. I feel that we wasted our day in Nassau.

Especially if it's a holiday or Sunday, nothing opens early, nor by the times posted on doors of businesses.
