Default NCL regulars compare East Meets West with Chin Chin

I've been on the POA and have a trip planned on the Jewel this spring. I really liked East Meets West on the POA and wondered if they are the "same". I thought it was the best food and service on the POA. Also since there is no Cadilac Diner on the Jewel is there something similar? I liked getting "little food" to go as snacks...thanks, Donna

Have not been on POA, but feel the same about Chin Chin on the Jewel. The Blue Lagoon is the comfort food place on the Jewel.

I was only on the PoA for one night before she left SF for Hawaii, but I ate at a beautiful restaurant that had the most remarkable carpet with fish on it, and that was probably East Meets West. We had a wonderful dinner there, and the place looked fabulous. If that's the place, it's totally different than Chin Chin on the Jewel, which I also love. Chin Chin is big and open, with the sushi line on one side and Teppanyaki in a closed-in area on the other side. The entire area is above Bar City, so it is open to that area and the music that drifts in from Bar City. I think you're going to LOVE the Jewel! We were just on her for 10 days in October; it was our second cruise on her and I would go back on that ship again and again.

The Cadillac Diner on PoA is really clever. Blue Lagoon, on the Jewel, isn't as "cute"-- it has a coffee bean pattern in the carpet. It's a great place to stop for a snack or for breakfast or lunch. When we were on the Jewel last year, I believe in the evenings the tables in Blue Lagoon was turned over to Tangos, which is just opposite the Blue Lagoon. I don't think they did this in October, so it remained an almost-24-hour diner.
