Default Victors Stone Island Pics food porn

We took the water taxi to Stone Island. Then walked to Victors. Drank beer and ate and swam in the ocean.
The most excellent of shrimp. 1st the peel and eat. More flavor than anything you get at home. Great dipping sauce with lime and ?
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...p/shrimppE.jpg

Then the coconut shrimp. These are sooooooo gooood.

My suggestion would be to order before 11:30am. Sometime after that is when Randis Horse group gets there.
Next door has great marguaritas and coconut drink in the shell fresh.
Best meal i had on the cruise. Didn't worry about getting sick and didn't either.

For anyone who is interested in taking the water taxi to Stone Island, here is a great link with directions:

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=996060

In September, half garlic and half coconut schrimp along with 4 beers was about $20.

Have a great time.

Out of curiosity when were you in Mazatlan? There is a post stating that many of the restaurants on Stone Island were destroyed by Hurricane Rick.

We were there on Oct 29th. It was about a week since Hurricane Rick. There was some damage to some of the other buildings along the beach before you get to Letis and Victors. I heard Randi talking to her clients and there were 20 foot waves coming up the beach. Victor and his son were in the back of their place during the storm. It was a scary time for them, They were able to make repairs fairly quickly.
They have electricity at thier places along Stone Island. The damage is not as great as you would think. Most everything is outdoors. They have structures that provide shade. That is what sustained most of the damage. They could be repaired. If it requires $ it might take a while, as $ are not easy to come by.
Most of the kitchens have dirt floors. It's not like they have framing and sheetrock and they have to totally rebuild.
Some people squirm when they see a dirt floor kitchen. This isn't the USA. I didn't have a problem eating there. Nobody in our group got sick and the food was delicious.
Ther we a few dead fish on the beach, but I don't thionk they were from the storm. Just a natural thing.
The swimming in the ocean in front of Victors was fun and warm. Do give it a try if you don't want to do the shopping/sightseeing tours. We've been there, done that. Just find me a beach, some beer and some good eats.... shrimp, garlic shrimp, coconut shrimp, etc.
There are some vendors on Stone Island.

Kashew,

You were there the same day I was with Randi's group..the water was wonderful. I found a beautiful live starfish in the shallow water and one in our group took some pics. My daughter and I aren't big seafood eaters, so we had the quesadillas...it included 3. We could have split one order. We had a great time and I will probably do what you did next time. I loved riding the horses, but I felt it for days after...LOL!

Good post

We were in Nuevo when HR hit and we had 20 foot waves crashing into the pool at Dreams Magna...it was soo surreal.....awnings and palapas were being tossed around like paper.....I kept on thinking of Stone Island and hoping that all was well.

We loved Victors and Stone Island and am hoping to get back there sometime this Winter for the day....

For those that don't like the vendors (we like them and have bought some great things while sitting in our chairs eating and drinking) sit more in the middle
