Default Inside Cabins Question....

I have been on one cruise to date. It was on the Holiday and I was able to get a really good deal I got an OV for 270 with tax. I am looking at booking another cruise and the one i really want the cheapest Inside room is 249 and it is a 4A. I did not get sea sick on the frist cruise but worried about the person I am going with she is prone to sea sickness. So i the 4A worth booking or should I waite?

4As are fore and aft, the mid deck, bottom deck are 4Bs, how worried are you that she will get sea sick?? Enough to book mid deck and pay more? Are you looking at Mobile and the Fantasy?? I would make real sure about the other person. There have been two threads in the last 24 hours about folks who the roomie decided to cancel, and they just found out about the no name change rule. Early Saver is very restrictive. I wouldnt rush into it until you are very sure of the other cruiser and the date and ship.

I know she would tough it out. And my friend wants the cheapest possible... I have even looked at the upper/lowers... but I am not sure about those.... I got really lucky the last time i booked and got this fantastic ov room room in the dead middle of the ship.

The port hole cabins are the same price as 4As and you can see out and no bunk beds. Thats what I booked.

For the cheapest most sea sick friendly option I would book 4A aft.

Aft is not as good as mid, but it is a lot better that front if you get sea sick.

The back goes up and down just about as much as the front, if the front comes up the back has to go down a compensating amount, like a tetor toter, but perhaps with a heavier child on one end, both move up and down, thats why they are cheaper aft and forward..

Unless the seas are rough you will not notice that much movement in the forward and aft cabins.

I've done a 4A at the front of the ship and did not notice to much movement (and I am somewhat prone to sea sickness and do get sick on smaller ships). Being on a lower deck, like Riviera also helps with the feeling of movement. You feel much less the lower you are on board. That said, I've also stayed on higher decks and not had a problem as well. The god news is the inside rooms on the Fantasy Class ships (if that's what you're looking at) are very roomy and should suit you space wise very well.

We just returned from Riviera 29, a porthole on the Inspiration. While we loved the ambient light and the looks of the portholes, the loud BOOM when the water hit the front of the ship was very, very loud. It happened all night for our last night due to high seas from Ida on our tail. Just something to consider. I didn't find the motion any worse than up in the showroom on the 7th floor. (also way forward)

Iv heard the occassional wave smacking the hull up front. Hope it didnt keep you from sleeping. A few others have reported waves from Ida chased them home.
