Default Aerial Tram Ride in Costa Rica

My DW and I are going on Princess cruise that stops in Limon, Costa Rica. They have two different excursions to different locations with aerial tram rides. One is at the Braulio Carrillo National Park and the other is a new facility at Veragua rainforest. Does anyone have any experiences with either location. The Veragua is about one hour closer to Limon.

I've listed this post in the Costa Rica section and haven't got much response. Maybe people who have been on it are not visiting that site. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Is the Brauilo excursion worth the longer bus ride? Thanks again for any information.

On my first cruise to the Panama Canal, we took an excursion in Costa Rica that encompassed the tram ride in the National Park. It was quite spectacular. There were four or five of us in each gondola along with a very knowledgeable guide. The tram moves slowly high above the rainforest and the views are quite impressive. We also had an open-air luncheon at a local restaurant, a quick tour of a banana plantation, a boat ride down the canals to see the wildlife... it was a very long, but very enjoyable trip (in fact, there were some traffic problems and the ship waited for our bus to return before she departed! Always fun running up the dock with a few hundred people clapping at you from the ship's decks! ). On our last voyage to Costa Rica, we had planned on going to Veragua but it wasn't open yet.

Wink Thank You.

Wow - the Two Ricks.

Thank you for starting this thread and for your answer. I would also like to know the difference in the two shorex. I guess one would have to have taken both of them to judge.

We went on the Veragua Rain Forest tour in February. One reason that we chose it was that it was closer to Limon. We enjoyed the tour. I have some pictures at the link below which will give you an idea of what you will see.

It is a research station so there are lots of exhibits as well as several trails that you can walk. Although the description of the tour didn't say this but there was a nice lunch with a sub sandwich and fresh fruit and a beverage. There were several choices. The drive was interesting too since you saw a lot of the town and the countryside.

Took a private tour to the aerial tram by the National Park in December 2006. It was a long drive, but definitely worth it! You get a whole different perspective of the rain forest when you're gliding through the canopy.

How were the walking trails? Can 65 year old with a cane go on this excursion? Is the ride back from the canal shorter than the ride down? We are so glad to see someone went on this as it is the one we most want to go on.
