Default What's the best time to arrive at Port Canaveral

We will be cruising on the 3/06/2010 itinery of the Dream. Don't really want to incur long lines at the port but also don't want to be waiting for a long period of time before they allow us to check in. What's the best time to arrive. Ship leaves the port at 4:00 p.m.

We stayed at the Radisson, for the free cruise parking. Their first shuttle wasnt until 11 am... so thats when we went over. I usually like to get there before 11 am.

Agree with firefly, get there before 11 am. Any later and the traffic gets hectic and long lines to process. Usually at PC you will be on the ship around noon.

We usually drive to the port and try to get there about 10:30. There are still people ahead of us, but we don't usually have to wait more than a few minutes.

If you are facing the building where you go through security etc, if you are able to go to the left side of the building, as opposed to the right side where the busses drop off people, the lines, if any, move faster. (The left side is closer to the parking garage.)

We have done this the last two times and were onboard soon after 11. Perhaps we were lucky, but we boarding started early. Enjoy!

Thanks for the info. We have a private shuttle picking us up at Hawthorn Suites Orlando Airport hotel at 10:00 a.m. so hopefully we should be there by 11:00 a.m.

Thanks for this thread! This is our first cruise out of PC.. we are staying at the Radisson too but will take a cab over around 10:30ish... I would rather just get in, get a boarding # and have a seat.. in July on our first Carnival cruise we got to POM around 10:30 and I stupidly forget to get a boarding #.. so I was like 9 instead of 2 or 3... but we had a seat vs those that came in around 11:30 or later there were no seats! So I would rather GET to the port and see my ship and wait in a seat
