Default 'Future cruise' certificates...

Are they transferable?

Sure enough, just because we DIDN'T purchase one while on board, we are probably going to be family cruising in June. Is is possible for someone to purchase this for you?

This is taken from the back of my certificate. Important information about your Future Carnival Vacations Certificate:

2. Certificate is non-transferable.

Thank you.

So I guess having some one purchase one for me in my name is not a possibility?

If someone books on board, they will get two friends and family certs. If you are going on the same cruise, that would work.

When using these certificates, do you have to book through Carnival or can you use it to book one of the official CC group cruises through CruCon?

You can book through whomever you like.

The only restriction is that you can not use it with Interline or Military discounts.

Once you have booked your cruise and paid your deposit...you simply mail it in and it reduces your final payment....and the OBC shows up....

I take it that someone else is traveling on a cruise and you are not. I believe that whoever is on the cruise can purchase one and then they would purchase one for you as well. If I remember correctly, we were offered this on our cruise in January, you can order up to 2 of them. If they do not purchase one for themselves than they would not be able to purchase one for you only...

We send in our certificate and they have 50.00 for each person as an OBC.

I have several friends who are cruising in the next several months..but no, I'm not going with them. My idea was that perhaps I could give them $$ in order to purchase a future cruise certificate for me to use on a cruise I would be taking in June with the family.

So I think you are telling me that the only way 'they' could purchase a certificate for me would be if they were purchasing one for themselves as well? Is that correct?

is this really true??

I know Princess does not allow you to buy a FCC for someone NOT on the ship. I dont know if its always been that way or is it a recent change.

Are these certificates only for carnval cruise? how long are they good for?

I didnt say you buy the friends and family, you seem to be mixing my words a tad.

If you book onboard, (i.e. not buy them to bring home) they GIVE you two friends and family certs to book .... your friends and family for the same cruise, so that up to 3 cabins get the OBC from one cert.

Of course its true. lmao. Would I make this up? j/k

They are good for 5 years, but the friends and family as I said in my post are only good for use on the same cruise they bought their FCC for, not for a different cruise.

I think my Princess FCC was only good for 3 years, I just called in and cancelled one, because I didnt have time to use it before it expired, I was too busy with other cruises.

I believe they have to cruise with you - we were offered this on our cruise in January and bought one for us but did not purchase extras as I was not sure my sister would be cruising with us. Firefly is correct on this one

To be certain you could always call Carnival directly...

You have to be sailing, in order to purchase one. I was just on the Liberty and I bought one, my friend also go one and then went back to buy a couple for her kids as christmas gifts and could not buy them, as they were not sailing with her.

They work pretty much like Princess's as far as the OBC, except Carnival hasnt moved into the computer age, so you have to snail mail them in, certified mail. They dont apply them to your deposit, they apply them to your final payment (the $100 you paid).

Oh yea, they do cost $100 each. I have 4 more unused ones. Iv used 2 of the ones iv bought.
