I remember that RCCL used to have a lunch menu called Brassiere 30, or something similar. It was basically the same exact menu each day.
I googled this, but can't seem to find anything online. Can anyone point me in the direction of RCCL's current dining room lunch menu's? Thanks.

I can't point you to a menu online, but can give you an idea of what they offer:
There is a very good salad bar now where you point and the chef creates the salad for you. Many, many choices from traditional caesar to Mexican to things like tuna, chick peas, artichokes and other interesting things. The steak sandwich is quite good. I've had it on two different ships. DH has had the gyro sandwich and said it was "okay". It isn't too spicy. There are also hamburgers, a pasta dish (two older ladies at our table on Monarch said it was very spicy - too spicy for them), a soup of the day, and I believe a crab cake - plus a couple of other items. The menu doesn't change each day, but there is a daily special and catch of the day. Hope this helps!

Is the MDR open for lunch every day - at sea and in port? The sample Compass on RCCL's website from Radiance of the Seas indicates that only WJ and Seaview Cafe are open for lunch.
(Sorry, I haven't been on RCCL since 2003, so I can't remember all the details and things might have changed with the cost-cutting) |

I believe they are still doing the Brasserie 30 concept with similar menus. The salad station is still one of the best offers, and I love the open-faced steak sandwich as well.

On Voyager and Freedom class ships, we like to have lunch at Sorrento's and/or Promenade Cafe. The atmosphere is quiet and it is usually not very crowded and the food is delicious!

The salad bar is fantastic! Some other things on the menu are a turkey burger, quiche, and a very tasty pita filled with lamb.

Hello!
I just got off FOS on Sunday and took a picture of the MDR lunch menu. I'm not sure how well it would read on here, so I will just list what it has: grilled chicken yakitori, today's soup, traditional greek salad (topped with marinated squid), royal caesar salad (plain or with grilled chicken), beef tostada salad (tomatos, avacado, onion, lettuce and cheese served on a flour tortilla with ranch dressing), grilled catch of the day, fried chicken tenders (with potato cucumber salad), grilled open steak sandwich (on toasted garlic rye bread with fried eggs, crispy onion rings and tomato wedges), grilled turkey burger (pepper jack cheese, bacon, and garden fresh lettuce), mushroom and leek quiche (with a side garden salad), morrocan style grilled pita (with with lamb and served with tzatziki sauce and salad), and singapore noodles (tossed with chicken and shrimp). Also pasta specials and the salad bar. Sweet Endings: Apple Parcel (colvados creme anglaise and vanilla ice cream), decadent chocolate slice, sugar free dessert (ask your waiter for today's special), white chocolate and orange flan, ice cream and sherbet selection, and strawberry napoleon. Hope that helps!

![]() The lamb pita sounds delicious! I'm usually pretty lazy about making it to the dining room for lunch, but I'll have to go at least once to try that out.

This is an option for lunch, but also has quite a limited menu when compared to the windjammer and even the dining room (only hot food is pizza).

To anyone who knows:
Presumably breakfast at either location is fairly repetitive? Can you get (my favourite!) corned beef hash?

Thanks for all the helpful information! What are the dining room hours for lunch, when it's open?

Sorrento's has paninis (hot), also. I only suggested it because someone mentioned how "jammed" the Windjammer is. Nice to have lots of options!

Canuker - yes breakfast is repetitive and I have seen corned beef hash. My experience has been that anything that is in the WJ is available in the dining room even if it is not on the menu - you just have to ask for it. Even though breakfast is repetitive, there are lots of choices so it is a matter of perception. On some days there is a special in the dining room that is not in the WJ - eggs benedict and huevos ranchero come to mind. Also the food in the dining room seems fresher - it doesn't seem to have been sitting around in a steam tray. You can order an omelet and not stand in line for it.

We had the Brasserie 30 concept on the Serenade a couple of years ago and it was terrific. We had excellent service and the food sometimes came too hot to eat. If the dinners in the dinning room had been close to this is quality, I'd have a higher opinion of RCCL food.
The olive tapenade was incredible - DW and I would good through a whole basket of bread. We hope it's as good on the Radiance in April!

No Sorrentos on Voyager class ships. It is a pizza cafe on Freedom class ships. But the Cafe Promenade on Voyager class also serves pizza. And tho' the quality varies, the best RCI pizza I have had was last year on Voyager.

The lunch in the MDR on the Indie is very good indeed. Problem is, that on port days it is closed and for the Canaries run, most people are back on board for lunch. A total zoo - RCCL should do something about it.
These are much, much, more expensive cruises than ones in the Caribbean and stuffing everyone into the Windjammer to fight for food and somewhere to sit, is not going to help RCCL to break into the UK market with Indie based out of there permanently. Plenty of other choice for the Brits and PANDO's MDR is always open for lunch apparently. |
