Default Carnival Group Amenities

Hi all,

We are organizing a group cruise and, as so, we are entitled to special Carnival amenities (5 funpoints) that, either we use for us or distribute among are goup guests.

Having to decide what to do, we wanted to know what were the most popular one's and how they turned out once delivered? Where they as expected?

Thanks for your responses...

OBC is usually people's most favorite, money.

A group party is fun too, if you get to choose two things. That would be my 2nd choice.

Default points

We've done a couple of group cruises. I'm not sure how many points they were worth, but we had a bottle of champagne delivered to each room and that was a big hit. If you have enough people/points, you can also do a one hour semi-private party where it's open bar. Once we had a private party, another time we shared the room with a few other groups. Depends on the number in your group. That's a lot of fun too.

If everyone drinks the wine would be good.

But see if you can get on board credit--- every dollar is nice.

Photo coupons which gives the cabin a free 8 x 10 (a 20.00 savings)

onboard parties can cost 11.44 pp for an open bar for one hour. So see what they are offering and how much the item costs to make sure you are getting the best bang for your buck

My group all wanted the $100 OBC and then we bought an extra amenity point to do the one hour open bar shared party. It only cost each person an extra $5.00 to do this, but everyone in the group has to do it. My group was thrilled.

Default Amenities logistics

Thank you all for your responses. It seems that our first choices were inline of what you anwered... So we were not offtrack!

In regards of the champagne/wine bottles or even the shared cocktail party, is this all at Carnival discretion when it comes for timeframe of delivery (and location for the shared cocktail party)?

Can we submit our own preferences? Like for instance delivery of champagne on the evening of the third cruise day? Or again, our shared cocktail party on the evening of the second cruise day and in the Dream's Burgundy lounge for instance?

Thanks again for your good answers!

Just a heads up regarding the "champagne" I'd stay away from it unless you have had it in the past and really liked it. We were served it at one of the future cruise gatherings and it was nasty nasty nasty. When we got a bottle as part of our last group cruise we left it for the cabin steward. He said they get alot of it as many guests don't like it.

Cocktail parties are held on sea days only and at Carnival's choosing. You can put a request in and they will try to accomodate it.

BTW the photo coupon is a nice touch for a group as you can request a photographer show up at your group party to take a group photo

I'd say OBC; they are paying for it already.

Our group for my upcoming cruise in September opted for the OBC, champagne and chocolate delivery, a group photo and a memory box (we had 7 points to spend). We figured we were a smaller group who was going to be spending most of its time together anyway so we didn't need the group party.

It often depends if your group is made up of couples or room mates, too. The shared cocktail party is a must. Last year I did one bottle of red and one bottle of white wine per cabin, to be served at the dinner table. That way triples still got to share equally with wine. Points are based on double occupancy. Also the OBC and photo coupons don't work well for Room mates and triples or more.

Except for the very few single cabins in our group, they're all roommates of two or three per cabin. The group leader does OBCs without issue, so it is definitely still doable.
