Question Obstructed view cabins Pacific Princess

Are cabins with obstructed views, i e due to lifeboats, noisier than other cabins.

My dd's usually have an inside room but on the Pacific there are no inside rooms available for the cruise we are looking at. We looked at cabins 6049 or 6045 but noticed from cc that these rooms can be noisier, if the lifeboat's used for tender use during the cruise.

Does anyone have any advice on these cabins with regard to noise. My dd has a disability that requires her to have a reasonably quiet room.

If you are in a tender port, and they lower the lifeboat outside your room to use as a tender - yes - those winches can be quite noisy.

Aside from those times, they should be relatively quiet.

Thanks for the advice.

Anyone know how I can find out which lifeboats are used for tendering?

There is no way of telling which life boats/tenders will be used. It is just the chance you take booking a stateroom with one outside your windown. One piece of advice, take along ear plugs, just in case.

We were in 6048 on the Tahitian/Ocean this summer. That is the first balcony beyond the lifeboats. We would hear the tenders for 10 or so when they were lowered and about the same when they were raised. We were always up by the time they were lowering them.

Thanks for the replies. I think we'll have to pay the extra for a balcony cabin. just to be on the safe side.
