Default More about the Dream

Was on the Nov.15 Dream and had a great time.

It took about two hours to board after arriving at 12. I was told the problem at embarkation had to do with a mismatch between the ship's entrances on deck 3 and the port's entrance ramps. Took elevator upstairs and enjoyed the buffet.

Aft balcony cabin 7467. Cabin was 9 or 10 ft wide and about 25 ft long. The balcony was was as wide as the room and probably 8ft deep at the floor and 5 or 6 ft deep at the railing. When at the railing you can see and be seen by people on the Lanai below and deck ten above. Never found this to be a problem. Very small overhang above offers no protection from rain or sun, but gives an incredible view of the stars at night. Shutoff the cabin lights and watch the show.

Breakfast everyday at the buffet, small line always moved quickly. At the omelet station there was never more than 4 people in front of me and the cook had three pans going. Good variety of food, but as expected at a buffet some items could have been warmer.

Lunch at the inside buffet or the pool area buffet of hot dogs, hamburgers and fries. I rarely eat this type of food at home and enjoyed going off the diet. Plenty of healthy food at the inside buffet. Again small lines that moved quickly.

Dinner at the MDR each night. Found the food and service to be very good. Used Yourtime dining at the Crimson, chose private dining for two and never waited more than 15 minutes.

Movie choices could have been newer releases, but I did enjoy the concerts shown. I seem to remember when daytime movies were shown on the Crown Princess passengers were supplied earbuds and the sound was turned down. At least I think I remember it.

Burgundy was packed for the each comedian's adult show. Saw three comedians - got there 15 to 20 minutes before each show, good seats for all three shows. The two comedians on board at NY were swapped out with two fresh ones in Florida. Really liked all three comedians. Didn't see any of the main shows at the Encore Theater.

My wife and I thought there were more places on this ship to be alone than on any other ship we had been on. Maybe we just went to the right place at the right time. Hot tubs are plentiful, ten I can think of, and all have great views. My wife and I watched two sunsets from the hot tubs.

Two too small pools. One aft the other mid ship, each only 3.5 ft deep.

Gym was small. About 20 treadmills, ten cross trainers, zero stair steppers, and about 15 Lifestyle workout machines

The good Lanai. Adds more deck chairs, great place to walk, and adds more places to sit and talk without the usual noise.
The bad Lanai. greatly reduces privacy of the 6th and 7th floor balconies overlooking the widest sections of the Lanai.

I carried off my own luggage took an atrium elevator to 2nd floor and walked down steps and out. Probably took 15 minutes from time I left my cabin.

Had a great time and would gladly book the Dream again. Just not in the Lanai/balconies I wrote of previously.

Why is a stair stepper needed when there are tons of real stairs?

Even health clubs don't have stair steppers anymore. Elliptical machines
are the in thing now. When the Dream has a bunch.

See... it's strange... I guess things really are subjective...

On my tour of Carnival Dream, both me and my friend walked into the Gym and said "This is Huge!"

I spent 16 days on the Dream doing the Transatlantic. I liked the ship
alot. The decor is definitely toned down from other Carnival Ships I've
been on. I was happy with the food. A couple dishes I didn't eat, but
that was my taste. The buffets were fine. I was loving the Burrito bar.
I was very impressed with my 2 dinners in the steak house. It was well
worth the $30. The entertainment was good. I didn't like the guy in the
piano bar. I thought he was rude to some of the passengers. Basically
"no tip, no request". I would go back on the Dream in a heartbeat.
