Default Ryndam for 12/6 could be overbooked!!

Yesterday our Travel Agent called and offered us $200.00 per person to rebook for another date.

We couldn't because of the folks going with us. They were on a fixed schedule.

Just wondering what they will do if they can't find enough people to rebook?

We all have our price. They'll keep making offers and eventually they will be too good to turn down.

Hmm... I'm on that sailing, and planning to drive to the port. I hate to sound like my expectations are too high, but $200 pp doesn't sound like a HUGE amount to me for the inconvenience (unless perhaps you're retired, never hire a house sitter, and aren't going with anyone who has to fly in...) What dates did they want to change you to?

$200 was just their opening offer. For someone who lives near the port city and isn't working, changing dates can be very doable.

I remember on one of our cruises, at the Meet & Greet, a woman mentioned that she had been scheduled to be on the previous cruise, but it was oversold. After some hagling, HAL gave her the offer of the new cruise -- 1/2 half off!!

Definitely HAL will keep calling people and making better offers.

Someone will eventually take an offer that they think is great for them.

I can definitely see how a "sweeter pot" would cause some changeovers for those whom it'd be easy for... I just think that HAL is kind of starting with a really lowball offer of $200. (If you were flying half of that would be your change fee, possibly!)

I hope someone gets a very sweet deal out of it!
