Took the fishing excursion in Janary 09 from Carnival Spirit. Caught one big yellowfin tuna. About 60 lbs. There were five men per boat plus two crew. Their english was not great but my Spanish was better. The boat caught five fish, one for each man. The boat never stops trolling so if you get seasick, this might not be for you.

The pack lunch was okay. It was a long trip (6-7 hours) and you went about 25-30 miles out from shore. The whale that swam right by the boat was a high point. Saw alot of sea turtles and dolphin as well. Well worth the money, no real down side.

Dress for hot weather, cotton and a hat. Enjoy.

My father bought a fishing tour for himself and my son on our Jan '06 trip to Mazatlan. Mind you - this was a few years ago. Lunch was provided on the trip and when my son peeled back the bread to see what was in the sandwich - the meat was moldy. Needless to say, we've never booked this excursion again.
