Red face How can you tell if "ship is almost sold out"?

Just curious after reading several posts of people saying that certain categories are nearly sold out or that the entire ship is almost sold out, how are they determining this? I have also read comments that there is no such site where it shows accurate availability of "all" cabins....

The way I can tell is if I do a mock booking on my sailing and my category and the number of cabins that comes up in the listing is less than 6 or so. Of course that number is if you have that many in the category you are chosing.

If a good number of cabin categories disappear from the sailing date's list and most of the remaining categories are guarantee only or only show a couple of cabins, it is a reasonable inference that the trip is approaching sellout.

Like they said above, if you try to book a certain category and less than 6 show up, they are running low on inventory. If you are checking outside the final payment date, this can be very wrong, as people are "holding" cabins and have not made their final decision.

Go to an large booking engine or ncl.com to check.
