Default Adventures of the seas - southern caribbean

What did you think of the shows on this cruise.

There are two main female singers - one an Afro-American Lady (Robin) and one a young English girl (Rachael).

How did you rate their singing?

I think that both of the main production shows are just ok at best... to see once. Unfortunately, the same shows have been aboard this ship for at least three years now. This means that I have seen them three times which is two times too many. Even the ice show has not changed and I don't really like the theme and music to it anywhere near as much as some of the other ice shows that I have seen.

I can't really rate the specific singers that you mention. But I guess that I was not overly impressed since I can't remember them.

Thanks for being so candid Ocean Boy - so what keeps drawing you back to the AOS and its southern Caribbean cruise?

I have never been on this cruise , but will be on it at Christmas (three weeks time) so would value all comments.

Adventure is an awesome ship. I love the Voyager class ships. And she has a great crew. I have sailed the Western, Eastern, and Southern Caribbean routes. I absolutely love the Southern Caribbean. The weather is beautiful and so are the islands. The ports also seem to be a bit less crowded as not as many ships go down into the deep southern islands as go to the eastern and western ports. One week cruises out of Florida don't really have enough time to get down there so it is either ships doing longer cruises out of Florida or ships sailing out of Puerto Rico. There are not that many ships home ported in San Juan.

Fortunately, the shows are not all that important to me. They are not the reason that I cruise. Other than the shows I have no issues or complaints with either Adventure or the routes that she sails.

Enjoy the anticipation of your upcoming cruise. You are about to have an amazing week.

Does anyone know who the current master is? Capt Ron should have gone on vacation by now...

We were on AOS this past June and the shows were very different from two years ago. They were fantastic. The singers and dancers were great.

Glad you liked the shows Granddutchess - my daugher, Rachael who is also on her first cruise is one of the main singers, but did not arrive on the ship until the end of July (so you missed her).

Not seen her (other than via webcam) since she left for Florida (from the UK) in June - so all the family (my wife and her two younger brothers) are really looking forward to seeing her in three weeks time.

We were aboard in March so maybe they finally changed over the shows.

So now I know how you know the names of two singers aboard a ship that you have not even sailed on yet!

I love the Southern Caribbean ports. We sailed the Adventure last November. That said, however, we've taken our kids the last 4 cruises and I found that they've met alot more kids on the cruises out of Florida. There was a huge language barrier on the Adventure out of San Juan since they fill up the ship with Puerto Ricans to sell out the cruise.

I agree with OB. The Adventure OTS is a great ship. We sailed on this ship back in April and LOVED it. I wanted to do it again in May but she will be in Europe. Wish that they had send the Serenade off to Europe.
