Default Internet and the Victory

I know this topic has been covered---From what I have read the internet is slow and expensive!

BUT--is the internet cafe faster or slower then using your own in your cabin? Also I read special prices in the capers--are these 'specials' for all sailings? And do they work out to a better deal only if you are using lots of minutes?

Lastly would it maybe be better to just use the internet on shore (we are in St. Thomas, Barbados, Antigua, Dominica)

--We need to get our football stuff in before the first game on Thursday.

Thanks!

Its ALWAYS cheaper in the ports. I do think I paid more for St. Thomas, than some western caribbean ports, I think $2 for every 20 minutes. ... but compared to on the ship, much faster internet, and way cheaper. Iv found a internet cafe in every port, but there were a few that it was a 3 mile walk into town, but I considered going into town fun and part of the port experience, so didnt mind.

the specials are pretty much for whatever package you buy, like pay for 10 minutes and get 10 free several times a cruise. But it is true that the larger the package is you buy, the lower the price per minute it comes too .... but Im not spending $100 for a package to get the price down to 55 cents a minute when I can go into the ports. I did spend about $25 on internet my last cruise ... in the ports. As much as 2 hours in one port, one was 75 minutes etc. So, I got a lot of time for my $25. Id say 5 hours of time.

You wouldnt get faster speed from your cabin than from the inernet cafe. The further from their hub, speeds would tend to slow down, not get faster. ... if you can get wifi from your cabin, sometimes that is iffy, if you are way aft or fore imo.

Thanks Fire.

I think we will go into Antigua and try to find the internet there. DH wants to get his picks in at the last final moment possible.
