Default Celebrity Summit Panama Canal Transit

November 23rd to December 7th, I jotted down some stuff in a blog about our happenings each day, and hopefully it will be useful to someone!~

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNISJaHViBw

So flying down to San Diego was the hardest part for me, after we were there, it was all easy! Cab ride was 10 minutes tops, and $8.40, porter right on hand to take our bags and off to wait in the cruise terminal. Check in was breeze, being in Concierge Class we were headed to a separate line and had our room key in 5 minutes. It took about 30 minute after that to actually get on the ship, have our photo taken for recognition, glass of champagne of course and then off to see our room. I don’t know what it is with finding our room, but this is only our second cruise and both times we have been taken the round about long route to our room! So its like a little tour of the ship in a weird way. The room is nice, standard size, but the veranda is worth it all. 2 loungers (only 1 reclines), 2 chairs and table fit very comfortably with a lot of room to spare. We put most of our stuff away and then went out to see the ship after the muster drill. We found our way round to the pool deck and got some hamburgers at the poolside grill which were pretty good. I think I drank the entire bottle of champagne in our room before dinner, then ordered a bottle of wine there too. Dinner was good, I had a lot of food, starting with mushroom glazed and stuffed puff pastry, then tangerine and apple soup, ceasar salad, spinach stuffed chicken and then creme brulee of course....2 glasses of wine with it from the celebrity collection bottles (Chardonnay). Shane had 2 shrimp cocktail, then 2 prime ribs, then creme brulee too. Only pop for Shane , I was silly enough for both of us. We wandered around a little more and then went to the casino, Shane signed up for a poker tourney today and I lost 100 bucks. He found it though in the machine next to mine....usually my luck!~ We ended the night ordering some giant choc. chip cookies and hanging the room service menu for breakfast. And we got a lot more food than we thought too....bed i really comfortable, 3 pillows each and the chocolates on the bed were nice. I'm off to test the shower now.

Last night was formal night for us; Shane looks happy doesnt he? haha...We had breakfast in our room that morning, way more food than we should have gotten, but the mini fridge was suppose to have been emptied so I could store some snacks for later. We were at sea today, and I went down to use the Persian Garden pass I bought and it was really worth it. It is prob. the best money spent on board. I lost 200 in the casino; ouch. Shane played the poker tournament and it was strange rules of play and he was out in 7th…not usual for him. I went up to the spa again while he was playing and I don’t recommend it, and felt strange after a bit being in there. Ive had a cough for 3 days now that I cant shake and I hope its just sinus problems. We moved forward in time 1 hour to mountain time, and we are about 2 hours away from Cabo San Lucas now. Getting all dressed up for dinner last night was fun; I wore my burgundy dress and Shane his new suit…we were quite the pair. We got a good surprise after dinner with a nice “Versary” cake brought to our table with group rendition of the song too. Great memories for sure. We got back to our room about 11 and there were some nice extra chocolates on the bed and a note congratulating us on our versary. Its about 8:15 am now, and I'm lounging on the veranda in my robe waiting for breakfast to arrive. Its been good too, I'm having a Western omelet with egg whites and then carrot and apple juice that Ill mix. Shane usually has pancakes eggs and bacon; all the good stuff. I just spotted a couple of fishing boats way out on the water; nice to see others still are around after not seeing anything or anyone for nearly 2 days.

I'm sitting here now in my new dress I bought in the flea market; what an interesting experience that was for me and bartering. I'm sure they got the better end of the deal, but I really wanted the dress and bracelets I did get so that evens it out for me. We went to Micheals club per the priority tender passes left in our room last night about 10:15 am and it was packed. We waited about 25 minutes or so and were then taken downstairs to the tender and on to shore. It was a bumpy ride and lots of fun and took about 15 minutes tops. We walked all around the pier area and then some going to the Hard Rock café for beer and margaritas, then on to Cabo Wabo (which was really disappointing) for a margarita for Shane and then we headed over to the giggling marlin. I was still feeling real good by this time and so food was in order here. I got some tamales and Shane got some enchiladas, and then we got the big hat thrown on us and forced to take jello shots…yeah, 2 each and it was and $8 surprise but it was fun. I think Shane videoed me…sigh….
There were even Roosters walking around the restaurant while we were eating...that was great. They were hanging people upside down and forcing 3 full shots of tequila on them, then spinning them around and if they didnt puke their friends lined up and had a photo with them. Not for me though...no way....We wandered around and around until about 4 and then started back to the tenders and now were back on our veranda enjoying the sunset over Cabo.
There was a day at sea in between Cabo and Acapulco, so we bummed around a bit. It is a semi formal night and I think a lot of people have forgotten what that actually means. I think one person I saw even had a t-shirt on. Food was good, Shane I both had short ribs for dinner and then we goofed around outside playing shuffleboard…def. good times. If I remember more about the day I will write.

Acapulco was a sight to wake up to; it looked so civilized. The cars passing by were fun to watch with so much screeching and horn honking and hand gestures…it was funny. We docked at 8am I think and we certainly weren’t in a hurry to leave the ship with all the other hundreds of people, so we had breakfast delivered then and sat and watched them all. We left the ship finally and made out way through the terminal into, ugh, the line of taxi drivers. Now they do NOT like to take no for an answer and I was disgusted with them after the first mile and wouldn’t take a taxi for anything about then. We walked and walked and explored the sites, even walking down into the beach and sitting under an umbrella, and we were told after a few minutes that it would cost us to sit there…so we moved on. They were fishing in the bay area and I think the sewer system ran right by there too…into the bay where they were fishing…ewwww. We decided to look for the Hard Rock, since there were no other bars open either and we finally found the place, only to have it not be open until noon, sigh. It was about 11 at this time and so we started walking back and caught a cab about ¼ way back and had them drop us off at the flea market we thought was by the cruise terminal…only to find out that there are 3 flea markets in town….at least we were still on the main road. I found some shoes and a dress for Erica and some other little collector items. Shane also got us some Gatorade then which helped a lot, since it was about 90*. We crossed the road and found a cab to take us back to the Hard Rock, had some beer and snacks, bought the hat and left… 519 pesos…ouch. I think I started to piss Shane off about this point with all the photos I was taking of him....great picture anyways I thought, he might be actually mailto:smiling!!!!@~~~%20We caught a cab again about 1/3 way back this time, taking in the sights of the town, and the mess that traffic had become. After we were in the cab we saw a group of people had gathered in the road with banners and megaphones; the cab driver told us what was going on but I couldn’t really understand him as his accent was very thick. The police were all over directing traffic, and seemed very polite and friendly. I certainly wouldn’t want to have to drive here though, as I thought several times we were going to lose a limb or be in an accident. Definite road rage here. I was SO tired and hot from all the walking that I tried to take a cold shower (the water is only lukewarm to hot) but it did help some and I got the gunk off my feet. Shane talked me into running back to the terminal 15 minutes before we were suppose to be back on board, so they were hesitant but they let us off and we went in and had a pina colada and margarita…Shane’s was allllllll tequila too. I got Daniels maracas here as well. Dinner was casual, I wore my brown plaid skirt and rust colored top; for food I had a fruit plate appetizer with a honey vinaigrette, then chilled strawberry soup, Caesar salad, and Duck a l’orange which was interesting. Crepes Suzettes were for dessert, that the maitre‘d made himself and Shane I both had them. There was a midnight buffet last night but we both were exhausted from the long day.

The day in Huatulco started early; we saw houses and land about 7 am, and were docked by 7:30. Shane had booked a tour for this stop; it was a catamaran sail and swim in the 5 bays of the area. We were to be in the lounge on deck 4 at about 9am, so breakfast was early today. We met our group and were sent down off the pier to meet up with the guide and then we were off. This was a different catamaran than we had before and was double decker, although we sat on the bottom in the shade and cool while most went up top. The margaritas were free flowing and over salted, but plentiful. About ½ ways through they brought around some fresh pineapple and papaya; the whole papayas were about the size of med. Watermelons and about a foot long. The things I read about this place did not prepare me for how beautiful it actually is. The waters are turquoise near the beaches, and the sand is soft brown; there is no fishing allowed near the bay, only deep sea, so it keeps the beaches scenic and clear for people. I found a couple of pretty rocks for Erica in the waters there that she will love. The captain said there was a humpback whale that was way out…we didn’t see it. Then he said there were dolphins too, and finally we did see the fins sticking out of the water and one of them jumped out and I got it on video…that was cool. We got to the last bay and were anchored for a bit so we could swim, the water was cool but felt nice and I made it to shore and back fine. Shane didn’t want to swim along with me so I went back to shore and sunned my buns on the beach for a bit before swimming back again; the catamaran had moved a little so it was a further swim but we all made it ok. More margaritas on the way back and more narrative and music; great way to see the coast of the area. We came back to the ship and dropped off our towels and such, then went up to the buffet for some greasy garlic pizza and a nice view of the bay from the back of the ship. We then headed into town and did some shopping; got Erica her sombrero and I found some bottles of wine. We went into a shop after being offered some free margaritas that were REALLY strong and looked around, but nothing really caught my eye enough to buy. We are back on the ship now and on the veranda with our headphones on just taking a break from the day and the heat. Shane said the humidity here is 88% and I’m sure the weather is close to that too but it feels nicer than Acapulco did. Maybe I’m just getting used to it also. A day at sea tomorrow but this is the last stop in Mexico, now on to Central America~! So if we move, here is the house we are planning to buy...gorgeous isnt it!!~only down side is its on the peak of a cliff over looking the marina...tough call, but I think I could suffer.

We woke up late coming into Costa Rica…sun comes up at 5:15 am so it certainly should have been bright enough to get us up and moving, but it was nice to sleep in. We went down and walked the long pier to town, not much security but everyone seemed really friendly. We walked the flea market area all the way and made purchases on the route back. No pushy sales at all…very nice community of people working there and all in all great things to buy. Our tour wasn’t until 1 pm so we had plenty of time to look around the town and shop. We came back to the ship, unloaded our goods and then headed up to eat some lunch in the buffet before heading to the pier for the tour. We got down there early, but the bus was there and air conditioned so we hopped on. The excursion I had planned to do in Costa Rica fell through; I had forgotten my tennis shoes at home, so there was no zip lining for me…bummer. I opted instead to do the jungle crocodile safari which was really cool; only about an hour bus ride, then onto the open air covered boat for a ride down the river to see the crocs…and there were plenty to see. At one point the driver got out of the boat and started slapping a half raw chicken in the water to temp the crocs to come over….one of them snubbed him but another came over pretty fast and had a bite or two in and out of the water; amazing to say the least. We saw some howler monkeys in the trees as well as white faced monkeys, scarlet macaws, great blue herons, iguanas (tree chickens!) and various other birds and wildlife scattering around….it was pretty cool. We got to do some shopping and have some coffee and fruit before returning on the bus to the pier. We decided to walk the pier back to the town area, there is a huge flea market along the shoreline that we went to, but the sun goes down about 5:15 or so and it was getting dark so they were packing up. I did get my darn tree wall hanging though! We went to a bar and had a couple of local beers, It think they were Imperial; cheap and pretty good. We walked out and around and then headed back to the bar for another round of beer. $2.00 a bottle…can’t beat that. It was fun to be out and around the locals and try to communicate with the barely little Spanish I know. We seen quite a few shops that sold Cuban Cigars, but didnt want to have to smoke them on the ship, seeing as how we dont smoke and all, and it would be a waste just to have them for a short time.... Ship was to set sail at 7, so we had to be back by 6 45…didn’t actually sail until just past 7 30, so someone must have been late coming back. The stars were all out tonight also, and it was tough to pick out which one was the North Star; or we might just not have been able to see it from where the cabin is in relation to the position. Beautiful none the less to see. We are out at sea today, and got the fun pleasure of meeting the Captain up on the helipad at noontime…nice man and fun experience. You can tell he really loves being on the sea, and was gracious to everyone who was there. Shane saw a sea turtle today, just floating along right under the surface of the water and I thought I saw a whale spout water too. We had lunch in the buffet area and I’m having some pizza margharite and some chocolate chip cookies from room service now out on the veranda watching the sunset at 5:55 pm. Weather is definitely humid, and warm but comfortable so I know I’m going to freeze my butt off when we get home. We’ve been close to Panama shores all day and at 6 am I think we are going to enter the canal area. I sure hope we can see enough from our veranda that early in the am. There are some pink puffy clouds in the sky now, made me think of the teletubbies…oh boy.
I got another bottle of wine to have with dinner, I can’t remember the name of it but it is a late harvest Riesling from Germany I do know that, and very very good. Makes for some very interesting dinners that’s for sure (secret agent I’m not…). For dinner, there was a beef onion and cheese turnover that was delicious, and then I had a Caesars salad and the Wahoo…yup, the Wahoo. Turns out it is a fish, which is not fishy at all, and meaty in texture. Combined with a tropical garnish including pineapple and a rice and bean confit on the side, it was actually good. Shane had the duck, actually 2 helpings of the duck, which has been the routine since day 2 on board. The seconds are just automatically brought, whether he wants them or not. Nice when you are hungry, tough when you are full already! Dinners are lasting about an hour and a half, and then we usually walk the floor to the casino to see who’s playing on a table, or not as the case usually is, and then I go and see what pictures might be new up on the walls. Its always nice to come back to the room, and our chocolates are waiting for us on the bed…sigh…..

Dinner last night was great, there was a fruit medley with midori, chilled exotic paradise soup, and for main entrée it was sliced turkey crusted in egg and breaded with sliced almonds…tons and tons of almonds. Goes great though with the wine I have. Dessert we had chocolate mousse pie which was great. We walked around a bit, since dinner only lasted about an hour, and ended up playing checkers (2 GAMES that I got beat at) then Shane tried to teach me chess…he killed me in like 10 minutes and had the king…o’well. It was really fun any who! We then wandered around until we found the chocolate extravaganza up in the night club on deck 11…very crowded and hopping, and the chocolate was everywhere!! It was about this time that we realized that we had left the camera down on deck 4 at the chess table and we hurried back down to try and locate it only to find it gone. I checked with the front desk and they didn’t have it, but Shane found it at the cage in the casino where someone had tuned it in…all in the matter of about 15 minutes….scary for us but glad there are still some honest people around. We sat and enjoyed the chocolate we had, listened to some good music by a guitarist up on deck 5 by the cova café and then tuned in the night since it was going to be an early morning into Panama.

We woke up at about 6:45am and there was already land around us and we could see a large city in the distance. There were lots of container ships around, a navy ship and what looked to be a sailboat out of 2 x 4’s and no sail... ha-ha…We had our breakfast outside, this morning I had the French toast sticks with marmalade butter, corn beef hash and chicken sausage with some milk and I have some coffee for later…Shane had his pancakes, 2 eggs over easy, bacon, sausage, toast, and orange juice…pretty much the same every morning. We were about an hour late going through the first set of locks, first on the right side then being sent to go through the left side. It was certainly worth the wait up on the helipad, but after about an hour we couldn’t cope anymore with the heat and headed down to our veranda to watch the rest of the process through. There were people waving everywhere, and a Crystal ship entered the right side of the locks and came though with us….cool to see the process even if it was for another ship. So here we sit in Gatun lake, so very excited that they decided to let us off the ship in Panama at Cristobel Pier…we thought we were going to be able to get off the ship so we didn’t book any kind of excursion to see the area, then when the daily said we couldn’t it was really disappointing. So we now get 3 hours at the pier, due to fog the excursions were running late and maybe someone took a happy pill…who knows.

So it ended up being a good stop in Panama as they let us off. The line up was funny and it circled around and around the 3rd floor getting longer and longer by the minute. We were right in front of the market place; vendors were everywhere, with all things Panamanian we could want. I got some golf shirts, a shot glass, a bottle opener, and some other small things. There were native dancers in the back, and cold beer in the front. We sat at the Boa Bar and had some Bud, and then I switched to Panama beer…not bad especially the second one. We were in port only 2 hours but it was long enough to do what we wanted. Shane even bought a panama hat which was pretty sexy on him. We came back to the room and watched the sail away from the veranda under the stars.

Today is an at sea day; we actually have started getting bored of them and are looking forward to land. The two days coming up at sea will be tough…sounds so sad right?? Columbia tomorrow, and I was looking forward to emerald shopping but I don’t think I can afford any according to the prices I’ve already seen. I went down and watched the emerald seminar and stood around in the jewelry shop with all the other people waiting to see if we had won the prize they were giving away. We went up and had some lunch in the buffet; there was spinach cannelloni and antipasto today, all very good. We got some mocha ice cream and wandered around for a bit before coming back to the room to just hang out on the veranda on the loungers…nice looking back yard we have here.

There was a late night fruit and sorbet fiesta up on the pool deck; silly coconut drinks and conga lines that curved around and around. I’ve never done one before but it was fun!~ Still couldn’t get Shane involved in it, but he was able to get a goofy picture of me being silly. That was a late night and I think it was almost 1am before I got back to the room…stars were really pretty to watch from up top.

Cartegena, Columbia was an early port, we were docked about 8am in what looked to be a mainly freight terminal. Princess cruise lines pulled up next to us too, which was great to see another ship just appear out of nowhere it seemed. We had an excursion and were to meet in the Rendezvous lounge at about 8:30; Deluxe Cartegena and Fortress tour that was to last about 4 ½ hours with 2 stops for shopping in between the sights. We headed for the fortress first, the vendors were almost attacking the bus before we even were off it. We made out way up and around the towers and walkways, all the while getting a good explanation of the history. More sight seeing in between and a $20 pair of Gucci sunglasses (yeah, right) and we were good. We did get to stop at the big galleria area with all the emerald shopping, but what I liked was way out of my price range and overly priced I thought anyways. Shane got us some local beer in cans and Im not sure why I drank it other than it was wet and cold….very, very strong and a bitter after taste. We came back to the ship and then walked back to the terminal area where there were more areas to shop and have something to drink. There was rum tasting in one area and I bought a couple of bottles; you can’t have too much rum in my opinion. We went to the main bar area and got some beer and just took in some of the sights. Some of the local police were there, maybe they were security for the terminal area I don’t know, but I had to get a photo with them since I had 2 beers in me. And then I had to go back to the other shop with the emeralds and I did find a ring in there I bought; its silver set which is not what I usually like, but it is hand crafted so the edges are off and not perfect and there are 2 square cut emeralds in the center with diamonds on either side. I’m sure I still over paid for it, but I love how it looks so that makes up for it. There also was a telephone and internet shop there, and it was only 50 cents a minute to the US…so I called and talked to my little guy for about 2 minutes and my mom the rest of the time, since he was weirded out by me being on the phone and not home.
It was informal night; I wore my blue dress and gems, and had the best veal cordon blue Ive ever had! I started out with the spinach gnocchi, and then had the chilled pumpkin and pear soup then the veal. The dessert was tiramisu cheesecake and just ok. Shane and I sat in the lounge after walking through the casino and just talked for a bit before turning in.

Day at sea today, late start and breakfast was delivered at 9 am. I still had the French toast sticks which are so yummy and had my coffee to get me going. Got a shower in and now just drying off on the verandah so I don’t have to blow my hair out. The waters are wonderfully calm today, and by the map on TV we should be heading between Haiti and Jamaica in a little bit. It would be neat to be able to see either one.

Last Formal night was tonight, I wore my green dress; this was the big formal night with the baked Alaska parade and a chance to see all the dining room staff together. Shane had lobster, the one night he had waited for the entire cruise~ I had prime rib that was ok at first, then a little tough on the other side…Baked Alaska was great, but I was just about too full at that point to eat it all. We made our way to the theatre to see the show and got caught up on the quarter pusher machine….again….Shane got a $50 bill out of it though, and it was a lot of fun.

Last day on the ship, breakfast in bed, again…boy this is a tough vacation. Just mainly sitting around on the veranda today, loafing about and reading a little. I even worked on the movie maker today putting on the photos and video which took a long time in itself. We actually filled a 2 gb. Media card…its about 600 photos and a bunch of videos. We walked down to see the photos again in the gallery, then got caught up on the quarter machine pusher again. Shane won another $20…it was about the same amount put in, or a lot more, but the thrill is fun and it is a lot less expensive than the slots that’s for sure. Casual night tonight, I still wore a dress just because I could. We had a good dinner, there was Chicken Kiev tonight that was superb and crème brulee and coconut cake was great for dessert, yes I had both. And I don’t feel guilty about it either!! A trip through the casino again…seems like a nightly ritual was a walk through though, and then we heard the guitar man up on deck 5 so we sat down to play a game of chess and enjoy the music. We finally turned in about 1 am and it was tough to fall asleep that night knowing that it was the last night on ship. There was still some packing to do, we did get the large suitcases out in the hallway, but even those are overly heavy and I hope we don’t get an extra charge from Southwest. Wake up call was set for 6 45 am, breakfast was to be delivered at 7, but no one told us that there was no hot breakfast for room service on the last morning. So we had some Danish and juice and then hauled our butts down to the restaurant and had some breakfast there. Met some nice people and had some eggs benedict and milk…pretty good, but a little rich on the sauce for my liking. We went back up to the cabin one last time and gathering up everything left there we headed to the cinema to wait. We were in yellow group 1, we were in there for about an hour and ½, we had coffee and pasties in there and Shane and I sat and talked some more until it was our turn to leave. Customs was easy as we listed all the things we bought: off the ship and gathering our luggage was the hardest part. We made our way out of the terminal amidst the thousands of other people and found a cab and here we are now in the Hyatt Pier 66 with a marina view watching Dr. Phil…ha-ha. We walked down to the beach earlier, I got to swim in the Atlantic Ocean which was cool, but I feel all gross now. I had to put my shorts back on and they were strange feeling…like slimy. So we found a little shop on the way down the road; I found a dress I liked in there and a pair of shoes to match; my stupid brain just signs for it…$112 for both…ouch. But I felt better after changing, and ended up doing so at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. restaurant bathroom. We had some beers there, pretty big ones too, and they went well with the BBQ bacon cheeseburger I had. We finished up there and continued to walk down the Galleria Mall, and walked around there for a bit; we finally found a pair of pj’s for Daniel that he had asked for. We caught a cab back and now were just hanging out in the room, trying to come down off the high that is a Celebrity Vacation. We came back to the room and watched a little tv, cleaned up and then walked over to the hotel lobby for some drinks. There was wedding reception going on around the pool area so we weren’t able to go to the bar there and went inside instead, where there was a dj setting up although he actually never played anything. At least I didn’t see him doing anything of the sorts. We then headed out over a long bridge outside the hotel and while going over got to see the Summit leaving, Im guessing back to the Canal…sigh….We walked about ½ mile or so, I was only in heels so Shane didn’t think it was too far for me. We found an outback restaurant and got some drinks, a really yummy pineapple chipotle margarita, and he had beer. At least the waitress said I looked pretty…didn’t hear that once from anyone else on the trip but that’s the norm for me…pity party I know, but it would be nice to hear every once in a while. We walked back, by then I felt like I was walking on needles, got to see a little salamander running on the side of the walls outside then went in, curled up in bed and went to sleep.

I was woken up by the breakfast delivery at 8 58 am….cant believe I slept in that long. Had some really great Belgium waffles with fresh berries and whipped cream, and I even added maple syrup to them for more flavor. Apple juice, coffee and a shower and we finished up packing and were out the door. Found a van cab and for $20 he took us to the airport; we got there about 11 30 or so, but by the time we were checked in and gone through security and all, it was about 12 30. We found a small souvenir store and Shane talked me into a sweatshirt im sure I will appreciate soon enough with the weather we are going into. We then made our way to the bar and had some beers, hopped over to the gate and got on the plane at 2 pm. Plane was delayed about an hour or so while waiting for fueling, but we made up some good time and got into Nashville only about 35 minutes late. Its 5 40 now at home, so only bout an hour or so before we start heading down for landing.

And how fun to come home to it snowing today...wow....I must be in shock because its not really sinking in yet that its not 85* anymore. O'well....would I do it again? Def. yes....maybe not 2 weeks, as that was a little long without the kids, but Shane and I needed it thats for sure. So now on to laundry and unpacking all the stuff. Only one of the little glasses broke, not bad for the way they were being thrown onto the airplane and all the kids stuff made it home in one piece. Seriously, its snowing out???

Celebrity Summit Panama Canal Transit
November 23rd to December 7th, I jotted down some stuff in a blog about our happenings each day, and hopefully it will be useful to someone!~

Ginger, I just wanted to say thank you for sharing all that you did about your Panama Canal Trip. As a newbie cruiser, it is really invaluable to me. I now have a much better understanding of what we will be experiencing!!

Sounds like you had a wonderful time. I am sure that you also looked ravishing!!

Blessings,

Nice summary! I'll be doing this same route in December, on Connie. Any specific suggestions on excursions NOT to pick (ie: from general conversations with other pax, etc?).

(To you or anyone else knowledgable....) Also, did you have to worry about any innoculations before travel? I asked my doc, I should be okay.... Just curious if you got any specific vaccinations for any pathogens before you cruised (for countries like Colombia, etc...)
