Default OBC While on Cruise

Hey everyone!

I was wondering if you have to book a specific cruise and date while on your current cruise to get the $100 OBC or if you basically just put the $250 down then and can choose any 6+ day cruise within 48 months after you get home. Thanks!

Put the $250 down, get the $100 OBC on current cruise - choose cruise when you get home (up to 4 years)

I was surprised to find out (while buying a "Future Cruise Credit" on the cruise) that you can't book a future cruise on the ship. Is that standard, or was that just an issue on my particular cruise ?

Best I know you can book while onboard. You can use the internet cafe for free to look at upcoming cruises. The only problem I have heard of is that the FCC has not been put into NCLs computer system until after you arrive home, so im not sure if you have to have the Latitudes Rep help you or not.

You can only buy the Freestyle Cruise Reward, cannot book a cruise onboard.

You used to be able to book a future cruise while onboard with the Cruise Consultant. We did that on the Dream. As was already pointed out, you can still book a future cruise. You have to do it through NCL's website, though, which is free to access while onboard.

Don't think you can do this anymore. Things have changed since your Dream cruise in 2007.

You can book a cruise while onboard simply because you can access the internet. It is no different than if you were sitting at home booking a cruise from your own computer. There is no advantage to booking cruise while sitting on a ship.

When you purchase the future cruise certificate. Do you have to pay with a credit card or can you use your OBC (as can you charge your sign and sail card). On Carnival you cannot use your on board account only a separate credit card.

We usually use cash of our account and was just wondering?

Thanks
Tammi

It is charged to your onboard account. Both refundable and non-refundable OBC can be used to pay the $150 charge.

The cost of your Future Cruise Reward is added to your on board account, then you have $100 in credit to use on that cruise. You will still have a full $250 deposit to use on any cruise. For example, I bought a Cruise Reward last fall and have until 2016 to use it.

Thanks!

Thanks everyone for your responses. I'm glad to know I don't have to pick a specific cruise date. Something less I have to research while preparing for my cruise

I bought the deal last year while on the Jewel. I recently booked THIS year's cruise on the Jewel and was able to get the credit. Actually... they charged the $250 to my onboard account... and since I booked this year through a TA they just credited the $250 back to my credit card. All I had to do was ask the TA to call NCL about it.

I had quite a bit of OBC left towards the end of my cruise so I ended up purchasing one with it.
