Default St. Croix?

Now sure if this the place to ask. The bride and I are cruising the Dream April 20 with stops in St. Thomas and St. Maarten. On one of our cruises around 1999 or 2000 we stoped at St. Criox.

We loved St. Criox. We didn't leave until I believe around 11 PM. They had a street fair on the street in front of where we docked. I really enjoyed St. Croix but heard cruises stopped going because of crime?

Do you think Carnival will ever add St.Criox back to their cruise stops?

Not sure why Carnival does not go there but Holland America, Celebrity and RCCL still go to St. Croix.

My daughter was going to move to St. Croix last year, and I did a LOT of research on the place. What I found out about Carnival is: Carnival claims it pulled out of St. Croix due to crime. The crime in St. Croix is mostly petty crime, and not really that bad. The locals claim it was because Carnival wanted to build their own dock, with all the cruise ship shops, and St. Croix did not allow it. As another poster stated, other cruise lines still go there.

We were in St Croix last March durning our cruise on Celebrity Silhouette. Absolutely wonderful place! I actually like that a very limited number of ships go there, and they only allow one per day.
