Default Port Everglades to Key West..earlier than 8am?

Itinerary says we are to dock in Key West at 8am. Anyone know if they usually get in earlier than that, and let people off the ship earlier?
20 days and counting

I was on that itinerary in October and we were there before 8 but I don't know if you could get off the ship before 8. We were off the ship right AT 8 though.

On our cruise to Key West it stated 8 am and that is what time we started getting off the ship. Don't expect a lot of the stores to be open that early. Some do open but most don't open until 10 or 11am.

We have found that if walking around Key West when on a cruise to have a nice breakfast in the mdr and wait a while to get off the ship.

No hurry to get off. As another posted, Key West is dead that time of day.

Oh, I don't know. If it were me, I'd grab a cab and high tail it to Blue Heaven (http://www.blueheavenkw.com/) for their wonderful breakfast and by the time you are done there, stores (and bars) start to open. Frequent off the menu offerings include Lobster Benedict. Many of my friends rave about it. Not being a big Lobster fan (you know there's one in every crowd), I settled for the regular Ham Benedict and it was amazing! A different day, I had wonderful Pecan Pancakes -- my brother had banana pancakes and he said they tasted like banana bread and I could see the banana slices in them.
