Default Jan 4th Serenade-10 night W Mediterranean

Would appreciate any assistance in getting from the Barcelona Airport(taxi, bus etc)Cost? to hotel

Also would be grateful for suggestions about hotels to stay in Barcelona,is is better to stay close to the airport or better to stay closer to the port--- some of the reviews are frightening.

Would love to hear from anyone who has done this cruise, or is going on it? We need some advice from seasoned cruisers.

Lots of info on the Spain Board. There are a lot of great places to stay in Barcelona. No need to stay either by the airport or the port. You can stay in town and take a cab to the ship. There are a lot of opinions on how to get from the airport to the hotel. I favor using a cab. You get it right outside the terminal and can keep an eye on your luggage. It was about 30E from the airport to downtown.

Check the reviews on the hotel. If it is "frieghtening", move on and find one that is not. We stayed at the Avenida Palace on both ends of our cruise with no complaints.

We took the train from the airport to Sants station less than €4 each walked across the road to the ACSants hotel by Marriott all very convenient cab next morning to port €18

Now this is not anyway close to Las Ramblas but all are cruises lately have been from Barcelona and we did not want to sight see

We were close to Placa Espanya. Lovely area this time we actually got to see the Magic Fountains

Thank-you for your advice, was it difficult to take the train- I should say was it confusing to take the train?, unfortunately my husband is not at all an adventurer.

We were considering Renaissance Barcelona, are you familiar with it?

Thank-you for replying, (I appreciate it) I have posted on the roll call for our sailing January 4th on the Serenade of the Seas, and I am reading through to see if others have any advice, we could use.

The train is very easy to use it is in the airport ,but definitely more of a walk than a cab or the airport bus

Tripadvisor is very good for research on Barcelona
