Is Early Saver Rate Gone??

We are thinking of booking a cruise at the end of October. This is only beginning of February, so thinking that's plenty of time to still get the ES Rate.

I went to the CCL website to look at our options, and there is no ES rate! ( I looked at Inside rates) -- There is just a rate for Super Saver @ 459 pp (they assign the stateroom), then a big jump to fun select @ 599.

No early saver???

I guess all the plummeting fares in trying to now fill these ships are causing yet another policy change. In conjuction with "ALMOST EVERYTHING IS INCLUDED". Huh? Remember the days where they shouted everything's included, with a short list of personal nature things?

Thanks, Pete, for the link - but I am still confused. I thought this thread was all about price matching if you booked ES and then were matched to an easy saver rate, therefore losing your Early Saver status and eligibility for future price drops. I am talking about Booking Early Saver - I don't even have the option. Am I missing something? Did they do away with the Early Saver rates all together? Did I overlook something?

Here's how the Early Saver program works:

1. When you book a 3-5 day cruise three months in advance, or 6 day or longer cruise five months in advance, you are assured the
lowest rate with a cabin assignment.

2. In the unlikely event that you do find a lower Carnival-advertised rate after booking your cruise, we will honor it and adjust your cruise rate accordingly. Simply fill out the Price Protection Claim form and we'll take care of the rest. If you booked your cruise with a travel agent and need to make a Price Protection Claim, simply contact your travel agent and they will submit it for you.


But, when I click on the Early Saver banner on the front page and try to book from there, it won't allow me to book Early Saver until 2014! I'm hoping it is just a glitch for now.

Fun, I noticed the same thing this morning. I was checking on rates for a possible cruise in September and no ES rate was shown. I had to go out to January to find an ES rate. Hopefully the web page is buggy and they'll get it fixed soon.

I think the system is just down, because Early Saver was there yesterday morning when I did a price check for my cruise, but last night (around midnight EST) when I did a mock booking it said that there was nothing available that matched my search criteria...so, I tried a different date, and it was the same for that one too. Now this morning, there is no Early Saver available, so I'm guessing that they're just working on the site.

I noticed the same thing when I went to look at the cruise we are considering in October. I hope it comes back!

I couldn't find ES rates for Sept either. Maybe it's do to the fact that there latest promotion ended at midnight last night.

I was able to see early saver rates yesterday, but I wound up calling the 800 number anyway, cause I had to book multiple cabins... If you can't find early saver just call the 800 number and ask

We booked ES for our cruise Dec 7th,2013 on board the Breeze Dec 2012, checked this AM and no ES.......hoping just a tech problem as it was there Friday.....

They now call it Easy Saver and when you click on the different fare choices, you have to read the important notes at the bottom as this is where all the restrictions are.

IE - I booked our cruise for 3/2/2013 and found it $70 cheaper earlier this week. I don't qualify for the price protection on board credit since the Easy Saver rates don't qualify.

Now I understand the rational in their offering so many different rates.
Not necessarily a bad thing, but you must read the fine print!

I think you are correct. It is likely just a glitch. Something to keep the IT people from getting bored I guess.
