Well, Pooh (which is as strong as I can say it here and still not have to triangle myself:eek:).... we arrive at Dockyard on June 7:(. I last saw this in St George's and if you are in Bermuda when this stirring performance is given, make a point to see it... stunning.. IMHO of course

With any luck I should see Glen in May but we will miss Beating Retreat ...

Don't forget to take Mrs. Fields chocolate chip cookies.

This will work out good for us since our ship is at the Dockyards on Monday 6/6. I assume from the pictures posted that this occurs at night. I believe that Destination Dockyards also occurs on Monday nights. Will Beating Retreat be a part of Destination Dockyard or is it a separate performance?

The pictures I posted were taken in St. George. Market Night is what they call DD there which was always on a Tues. The Beating Retreat was on Wed. night. I may have the days reversed but they were not the same night and it may be different at Dockyard. Just be sure to inquire at the Visitor's Center for the schedule.

  • 3 weeks later...
is this the right date?..other sites list sept 29. Also, how easy is it to get to that area from the dockyard?

Not sure about the discrepancies in the dates but you can take the ferry to Hamilton and you get off right downtown..

We will be at the Dockyards on Wed. May 25th. What time should we be in hamilton for this "performance.? " Where is it held? Just plotting my plans a couple of months early!
