Snorkeling in Grand Cayman?

We will be docking in Gerogetown and I'm looking for things that do NOT involve animals held in captivity or animals being held for photo ops. So that means that Stingray City is out.

We LOVE snorkeling though. Is there anywhere in the area where we can take a cab or bus to go snorkeling?

Eden Rock is a great place to snorkel or dive. :)

You you need water shoes to snorkel Eden Rock by any chance?? Didn't know if we need to purchase, we live in Florida and we don't need for our beaches here:rolleyes::rolleyes:. Day doesn't want to incur the cost if really not needed.

The water's pretty deep at Eden Rock...you won't touch bottom. It's 12ft deep at the edge, with lots of sea urchins, though. DH, who snorkels there often, suggests you're better off with fins (flippers) rather than water shoes. Whether you'd want water shoes for the walk to the water would be a personal decision.
