I would say that you have time to do it.

Nyhavn is located on the way to the pier and there you can have a good lunch, both seafood but also a "normal" meal. :D

I just booked flights from CPH TO KEF when we arrive back from our cruise next June and the confirmation told me to be at the airport 3 hours early..

Is this the norm?

That sounds like alot of time.

You both have pass the security and also pass control at the C gates but that shouldn´t take 3 hours.

Check in and bag drop off can take some time if you have to wait in line for that.

You can save some time by using the automatic check in kiosks and the self service bagage drop off.

Both Icelandair and WOW Air has that possibility, Icelandair also allows you to check in on your computer.

Security can take from 2-3 minutes and upwards to 20 minutes if you are unlucky.

I have seen some long waiting lines at the pass control around 12 am when many of the intercontinental/non Schengen flights departs. (they all departs from the C gates)

So allow for 20 minutes or so there aswell.

So if you are very unlucky you can use maybe 1,5 hour to get to your gate from the airport trainstation but if you are lucky perhaps only 30-40 minutes.

If you are very unlucky you will use around 20 minutes at the check in, bag drop off procedure, 20 minutes (but its very rare) at the security and 20 minutes at the pass control (also rare but more likely)

plus walking time from terminal 2 or 3 to security and to the C gates.

Your ship will be at Oceankaj but I can´t see if its terminal 1, 2 or 3 yet.

 

 

Its a normal weekday bus 26 goes that day, so take bus 26 (direction Ålholm Plads) and get off at Østerport station.

 

The bus goes from UNICEF Færgehavn Nord at XX:14 and XX:54.

From Nyhavn you can take bus 26 (direction UNICEF Færgehavn Nord) directly to Oceankaj (if that is your terminal?)

But not on weekends/public holidays.

But its probably easier with a taxi.

yes I booked Icelandair but won't have computer access, so if I get off the ship at 10:00 and it takes the bus how long to the airport? 40 min?

So that's 11:00 or so then another 1-1.5 to get to the gate , after baggage check, past security etc.

Looking at noon to 12:30 and flight leaves at 2:30 that seems reasonable.

Time is all you have.

Luckily for you the restaurant offers at the airport has been awarded as the best airport food in the world so you have plenty to do.

At CPH most restaurants and shops are located airside (but before passport control) so you can shop at the LEGO store or Victoria's Secret and the many other shops if you have the time.

Inside the C pier there is only a 7-Eleven (as far as i remember) so don't rush through the Passport check immediately, but still check the lines to see how long it takes.

There is also a coffee shop/bar called Segafredo or something like that and a tax free store inside the C pier.

Out of curiosity, is there any good hotels near "Hilerødgade Skole" in Copenhagen, the reason for asking is, I went to school there in 1943-1944, and may like to stay in he area, on one of our trips to Copenhagen/Nørrebro. :confused:

I'm sorry to tell you that there is no hotels nearby.

This area is called Nørrebronx by the locals and you can probably guess why :D

But its easy to visit from central Copenhagen.

But bus 250S from the central station towards Buddinge has a busstop at Hillerødgade.

These busses runs very frequently, like every 20th minute on Sundays and way more on other weekdays.

Btw this is a very big coincidence, yesterday I was at a Julefrokost (Christmas lunch) with my friends and on the stereo a song by Anne Linnet Called Barndommens Gade (the street of my childhood or something like that).

Maybe you can search it on YouTube, its and "old" song from the 80'ies but its actually very good if you can ignore the Danish lyrics.
