West Coast shipping companies and dockworkers have reached a tentative 5-year contract agreement, ending months of protracted negotiations that caused a major backup in imports and exports.

Friday’s deal calls for ports to return to full operations as of Saturday evening.

I don't know how this deal will affect the east coast as I haven't read deep into the details but hopefully those of us who are cruising out of Long Beach and San Francisco can now enjoy an uneventful embarkation at our ports.
