Trainman....

Breakfast at The Southern Table. Food and service were good. Portions huge. They have only been open 6 months today.

You should give this place a try. Open 0700 to 2000 hours. Serving breakfast all day and have a nice lunch and dinner offering. The manager here came from Chicken Pantry.

Yesterday afternoon I took Red Dog to the Vet for lots of little things.

She is on pills for a "boil" on her back but otherwise is doing well.

Vet visits are never cheap!

Today and tomorrow there is a zero percent predication of rain!

Today I will cut grass at the old house and tomorrow I will cut grass here.

One suggestion re the chicken house. I don't see an extra board along the sides or top that would stop the chicken wire from unraveling should a dog run through or even in case of something blowing into the wire due to high winds. Love the idea of swings.

Also see snakes slithering under and inside through that mini door. Better you have to handle them than me!

It is not "traditional" Chicken Wire!

It is a much heavier gauge welded wire with 1/2" square openings.

The smaller openings prevent Raccoons from reaching through the wire and grabbing the chickens.

I will have to rig up some swings.

I got the grass cut at the old house back to the Railroad Yard behind the barn.

I was surprised to see that all of the swales had standing water and a lot of areas were too wet to cut at all.

I'm not surprised that you had standing water. I'm seeing lots more water in the past two weeks or what I do see just isn't going anywhere and we haven't had the rain our way that I see hitting the I-95 corridor north of us. Think the water table has been busy absorbing and reaching saturation.

Based on the weather report, expect you will mow early tomorrow morning and then get rained out for most of the rest of the week. We had some outdoor plans that are on hold, mostly due to the heat index but also the afternoon thunderstorms.

One good thing, the temps should drop and since you can't work outside, you can take it 'easy' working indoors!
