Default Airlines Executive Lounge: Barbados Airport

Hi, Has anyone used this lounge before departing on the charter back to the UK and can give a view on whether its worth the cost?

We have one 'Lounge Club' membership and total cost for us would be £15 (visitor cost).

Do the timings mean that after after transfer from the ship to the airport, we have a couple of hours kicking around the airport before boarding the flight?

thanks

Generally the company try to keep you out of the airport as long as possible, so as long as there is no problem with the aircraft it would be hardly worth it.

I have an amex centurion that gives you access to most airport lounges.,. the one at Barbados is pleasant enough but unless there is a delay I wouldn't pay for it... unless you are very thirsty as the drinks are free!

Thanks. Looking through other threads it seems to be the case that you arrive at airport and are practically put straight on the plane. Suits me down to the ground !

We flew back with Thomson's and had a couple of hours at the airport, so used the Lounge. We had 4 free lounge passes a year with Airport Angel through my bank account, so we were lucky enough not to have to pay the £15.
It's a pleasant enough, run of the mill lounge, similar standard to Servisair in the UK. There's free drinks and light refreshments and it's a lot quieter than the terminal lounge which, when we were travelling, was packed and it was difficult to find a seat.
The bar staff were kind enough to search through the TV channels to find Ireland v Wales in the Six Nations, so, all in all, well worth it for us.
Back again in a couple of weeks after a Ventura cruise.

We recently came back from Barbados and were in the airport 15 minutes max before we boarded the plane. They tend to keep you on the ship as long as possible before transfer to the airport - our flight was 5.35pm and we left the ship at 3.30pm and got to the airport about an hour later. We were due to leave the ship at 3pm but because the inbound flight was running later than scheduled, they kept us on the ship another half hour.
It wouldn't be worth it in my opinion, as you don't get that much time there - unless there is a delay once you are in the airport.

not quite correct, we left Ventura yesterday at 12.45pm for our 4.50pm flight to Manchester we arrived at Grantley adams at 1.30pm and the flight didnt leave until 6.00pm. All departures from the ship were scheduled for about 4 hours before the flight.

We always use a lounge. It's much quieter than the main terminal in any airport. We had over 3 hours to wait at Grantley Adams in November, so the lounge was a lovely sanctuary (before the 'painful' overnight flight). The staff there were extremely accommodating and cheerful; some of the best I have yet found. I would recommend it.
