Kjøllefjord stop

Another question about our Classic Winter Voyage North in Jan next year.

Looking at their trips there is a snowmobile trip which seems to go from Mehamn but we dock in Kjøllefjord has anyone done it? Do you get your own snow mobile or do you have to share?

Does the boat leave Kjøllefjord and dock again in Mehamn?

Thanks!

I know this is probably late, but if you go Hurtigruten the snowmobile excursion in Kjollejord was a complete waste of money. It lasted less than an hour (advertised 2 1/2) and the speeds were no greater than 15km/hr. Some of the others were very nice, but the Viking Feast and this one is not worth it, even at half the price...

Thanks we went in Feb, shame you did not enjoy the Viking Feast we enjoyed that and the guide on the Coach was brilliant. This is our review http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g612448-d1798393-r195560916-Lofotr_Viking_Museum-Vestvagoy_Lofoten_Islands_Nordland_Northern_Norway.html

We decided to have a few days in Tromso at the end of our trip and had the most amazing skiddo trip with Tour in Lyngenalps http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g190475-d3746190-r195557340-Tour_in_the_Lyngen_Alps_Day_Tours-Tromso_Troms_Northern_Norway.html Just breathtaking! :D

Can you tell me the excursions you do recommend?

We loved the dog sledding in Kirkenes - while at the location there was time to tour the ice hotel and see the reindeer. The sled ride goes around a frozen lake.

We enjoyed the midnight concert at the arctic cathedral - beautiful music is a rather unique setting.

Some in our group really liked the viking feast, while others thought it was just OK. The feast is a re-enactment of a viking meal, complete with Viking hosts.

We also toured the ice sculptures in Svolvaer - definitely worthwhile. In the other ports, we walked around on our own.
