Transfers from ship to airport in Malaga vs taxi

We are about to book transfers through our travel agent. Does anyone know the cost of taxi and how available they are?

HI, I will be on the Journey and also plan on a taxi from ship to airport post cruise. I have seen information on the malaga tourist websites as well as cruiseingexcursions.com which offer pre booking a taxi . I think it was about $14 per person or about $50 plus for four people

Taxis at Malaga airport are in abundance. I don't know the cost but it only takes about 15 minutes to the port.

It is absolutely not necessary to pre-book a taxi. They are metered and most drivers have an understanding of English. They charge by the journey not the number of people although I think there may be a small charge for extra passengers and luggage as in most European cities.

It is a very civilised airport.

We made the journey to and from Malaga Airport and the cruise terminal twice in 2012.

Taxis are easily available both at the airport and quayside. The fare was €30 each way. There were four of us traveling so with tip included it worked out at €10 per person, and good value.

Thanks for that information, too. Our flight leaves at 7:55 am, so I was not sure if I would find a cab at the port very early.
