nice cheap beach?

What would be a nice cheap beach to get to from the ship for a simple beach day?

Great Bay Beach is a 20 minute walk from the ship and sitting on the beach is free. You can see the beach from the ship and the further you walk down the beach the cheaper the beer gets. After beach time you are just one block from the downtown shopping district.

People looking for a free beach are in luck when they have a port stop in St. Maarten. Great Bay Beach is right there! :D

You can't beat Great Bay for cheap - but it seems a shame, after coming all that way, to focus more on saving a few $ than having a great beach day.

Yes it is but our cruise has 6 port of calls and for a family of four $50-$100 excursions add up fast so just gathering some options. What beach would you recommend for a great beach day?

If you have small children, Le Galion is an ideal, calm lagoon - restrooms and reasonably priced food; Dawn Beach is closer to the port - also facilities - each would probably be about $12 -$15 cab fare for four each way.

You should chat with people on your roll call to see if they have suggestions for other ports on the itinerary - some of which might have great beach - or other convenient options.
