With the new additions to wdw does anyone know when in 2019 the Star Wars land will be ready? Want to plan our 2019 vacation

it's hard to plan though...

pandora wasn't supposed to be finished in 2017, but they pushed up the schedule because of universal breathing down their neck..

they're really pulling out all the stops now..

i have a feeling they give a date that they know they can meet and then try to finish earlier...

we'll be there in two weeks....this is a trip that we've planned since 2011...who knew they'd have so much new stuff open..

but at the same time, lots of stuff has just closed or is about to..

so you just sort of have to go with an open mind...whatever you get to do, you'll do..

and whatever not, will be something to look forward to next time!!

WDW has a history of having things finished before the announced date. And after their fiasco with the Magic launch, they aren't going to promise anything with a ship that they aren't SURE they can meet.

All that was said at D23 was that SWGE will open at Disneyland first - which must be spring, and at DHS later on. Which means late summer/early autumn.

Soft openings are not uncommon, but they are not announced.

Yes, they are opening a Star Wars Hotel. It'll be completely immersive - windows will be screens showing space scenes - not too disimilar in a way to the portholes on the DCL ships.

there are a lot of men out there who will be totally gaga over this...

someone posted a video on this board a week or two ago of himself on a disney cruise going crazy playing with all the star wars stuff in the kids club...so funny....and i know he's not alone...

and not just men, to be sure...lots of women too..
