cruiseelady Posted July 5, 2017 #251 Share Posted July 5, 2017 (edited) Hi all, I just booked a cruise for October 27, 2018. Got such an amazing deal, I have to share. But oh my goodness it took half a day to actually book it. I first saw the deal and had to think about it, then when I decided to book it, the two rooms that they had originally for this price were gone. Then I was checking every hour until I finally saw all the two room that were there originally plus one more. I booked it immediately. So its Anthem of the Seas(Royal Caribbean), I got the Super Studio Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony. The price is 795, not including taxes and fees. Its a 7 day cruise from NJ to Bahamas. TwizzlersAddict Posted July 6, 2017 #254 Share Posted July 6, 2017 Some great deals posted here, how do you find them? All the deals posted have to be available to the general public,so you can find them all, right on the cruise line websites. Some do post deals that are tied to their loyalty status or a casino offer, but for the most part, the deals posted are accessible to everyone. This is a nice site that takes some of the legwork out https://www.cruiseplum.com/solo-supplement-deals

Rare Scrapnana Posted July 8, 2017 #256 Share Posted July 8, 2017 RCI is having a "50% off second guest" sale. I was able to take advantage of one of these sales in 2015 and paid 150% instead of the normal 200%. Lots of terms and conditions so check out the RCI website. bottomfeeder Posted July 8, 2017 #257 Share Posted July 8, 2017 I've been watching a couple of New Zealand cruises on Celebrity Solstice for a while. Today, for the first time, there seems to be a reduction in the solo supplement. I got a balcony guarantee rate on the 12-day Dec 9 2017 cruise for $2268 (excl the $162 tips and the $165.47 taxes/fees)--this was a 55+ rate but the FL resident rate was only $30 more. It doesn't include any of the "perks" like drink package, but they are not good value to me--and I could have upgraded to the rates with perks if I wanted to, I think it was about $600 for one perk which is better than buying the drink package outright if you were inclined to do that. The Nov 25th 14 day cruise was also at a lower solo supplement today but was still $3100 for the least expensive balcony cabin solo rate. Anyhow, thought I'd mention this in case anyone else has been watching a Celebrity cruise for price drops--not sure how many cruises this new rate applies to. Happy cruising! I am interested in this cruise, but RCI's rotten website will not let me look at any individual cruises, whether by date, itinerary or ship. All links bring me to a blank page. I will have to try using my iPad or desktop, but Royal notoriously has the worst website in cruising. People constantly complain, but it never seems to improve. Evangaline Posted July 18, 2017 #262 Share Posted July 18, 2017 Royal notoriously has the worst website in cruising. People constantly complain, but it never seems to improve. [emoji35] Pam This is so true. And the problem now is when you give up on the website and phone them for post-booking information (dining shore excursions etc.), the staff is no poorly trained that each one gives a different answer. Didn't used to be like that. If the website is NG then at least the staff have to be with it.

Wendell Pendell Posted July 23, 2017 #266 Share Posted July 23, 2017 Booked Celebrity Infinity 7 NIGHT PACIFIC COASTAL CRUISE $973 SOLO OCEANVIEW Sept 17-24, 2017 Vancouver-Seattle-Astoria-San Francisco-Monterey-Santa Barbara -Los Angeles plus Taxes $270.23 Thanks for the heads up! I just booked this. For some reason X's site gave me a slightly higher price of $1061 plus taxes of $270 for an oceanview. Possibly because I booked a particular cabin instead of an OV guarantee? I also called a large online agency. They had the same price as X's site and were unable to add any perks. They said their negotiated prices were almost always better than the cruise line prices, but this was an exception. It's a great price and I'm happy. See you on board! robmac330 Posted July 25, 2017 #268 Share Posted July 25, 2017 Not exactly a "solo supplement" but if you're like me (a solo trying to work up the rewards status ladder while not having to constantly shell out for an interior) a good number of NCL Breakaway, Epic, Escape, and Getaway itineraries are all included in this month's Latitude's Insider offers. A lot of "GETAWAY on an ESCAPE from the cold" offers for January-April 2018 for the Caribbean, as well as a 12-day Transatlantic on Breakaway that would net you 24 qualifying nights (12 nights + 12 bonus); enough to push most Silvers to Gold status and Golds to Platinum status. Midwestern Cruiser Posted August 2, 2017 #275 Share Posted August 2, 2017 What is a 'casino rate" If you use the casino (to whatever degree the line requires), they offer reduced cabin rates on select cruises from time to time.
