Default Symphony Cabin Question

Has anyone stayed in Cabin #7052 on the Symphony? Can you tell me whether there are obstructions and, if so, how much they limit the view? There are no obstructions visible on the schematic, and I'm wondering why it's a Category E if the view is not limited. Thanks for any enlightenment you veterans may be able to provide!

We have stayed twice in 7054. The obstruction for that one is that the gangplank is on the railing on the far side of the Promenade Deck. No problem for 7054.

What about 7046? There doesn't seem to be any obstruction in the deck plan. Is there something else on deck in the way?

Have stayed in 7056, and we are booked again in November 2008. The only obstruction was a little of the gang way. It was nothing to speak of.

We've been in 7050 (also cat. E) twice (2nd time on purpose)--a little of the gangway was also the "obstruction" there, so presume that to be the case with 7052--no problems at all with the view. Bob S.

Excellent choice, I can vouch for that one as it'll be my home away from home on the Panama Canal trip in December....

We have stayed in that cabin in the past and have selected it for our 8208 cruise this spring. Jayayeff, here's your chance to return the favor by taking good care of the cabin so it will be ready for us when we board.

My pleasure, I'll take good care of it for you but I can't vouch for those who'll be using it between my trip and yours ......

Thanks so much for the information; we've booked 7052 for the Miami to LA cruise in November 2008. This will be our second Crystal cruise, as we just returned from the first ten days ago. One more question for those of you who stayed in or near 7052, was it since the renovation? Our TA was told by a Crystal representative that some changes to views may have occurred at that time. Thanks again,

Sandy

Default Gangway

Those cabins really have no obstruction but the gangway. Have been in 7050 since renovation. You are going to like your cabin, not to worry. joyous

Thanks, Joyous; I guess I'm just obsessing over this because it will be our first try at an "obstructed view" cabin. I'd like to take advantage of the bargain, but don't want to be disappointed. One final question, does anyone have an opinion as to whether the cabins partially obstructed by the small lifeboats (7060-7065) are better than those by the gangplanks?

Pete and I like the gangway obstructions better than the lifeboat. I'd rather be able to look up and out over the gangway to the sea. The overhead obstruction bothers us more than the horizontal. joyous

Joyce, I will be in 8076 the end of next month. I'll let you know how it is if you don't get a response before that time.

Those cabins are as they appear on the deck plans. They are positioned between the life boats so you don't see the lifeboats until you get closer to the window. And, they have the added advantage of being mid deck and right near both the elevators and stairs. All good choices.

I have stayed in 7056, which is identical to 7057. The only obstruction in those cabins is the stowed gangway. As 7059 is next to 7057, I don't think there would be much of an obstruction.

Joyce - we stayed in 8076 on the fjords cruise and we have it booked for our next three cruises. Makes it easy for Ronnie to figure out which direction to go for the golf net - lol. It is not obstructed, but if you go to the window and look at either side you'll see the lifeboats. It is at the elevators, but we never heard any noise.

Margie, we will be in 8076 at the end of this month and have booked it for our 2008 Baltic cruise. It looked great on the diagram so thanks for the confirmation.
