So Confused About Atlantis Day Pass

I've been reading the threads and one moment I think I understand what I'm going to do but then I get lost again.

One if the reasons why I selected our itinerary, RCL Monarch 5/4-7, is because DH has always wanted to go to Atlantis. Thus we need the all access day pass. We're due there at noon and depart at midnight.

So please tell me where I should get the all access pass from at the best price, how do we exit the ship (not sure if we have to tender or not) as early as possible and how do we get there, and when should we pack up to get back on the ship and how to we get back?

Sorry one thread I read said something about transportation leaving at 6pm and this added to the confusion.

Thanks

With you date - you should be able to walk into Atlantis and get a day pass at the front desk. You are going in the off season. Shouldn't be crowded.

You dock downtown, and there are cabs waiting ($4pp). plus $1 toll. They will drop you at the Royal Towers.. you can go to the desk and pay $120 pp for your all access pass.

The waterpark will close at 5, the pools at 6 during that time of year.

That time of day it takes about 45 mins to get back to the ship due to traffic and another 10 minutes or so to get to the ship.. so leave some wiggle room for your dinner plans.

The only transportation that ends at 6pm is the tour transport from the ship. Otherwise, taxis run 24/7.

Are the restaurants included in the pass? If we wanted to hit the casino after the pool closes is there an area we can change?

Thanks for your help Scubagirl.

With the all access pass, you can buy lunch on the property, but nothing is included in the price.. credit card only.. no cash. There's a transit lounge near the lockers for changing.. i think it closes at 5pm ..

If you want to eat in the restaurant in the evening.. you'll need a reservation for most of them... even casual dining fills up quickly.

I was under the impression that the pools were not included in the day pass at Atlantis. Did I understand it wrong or is the all-inclusive pass something different than the day pass? What kind of prices are we looking at?

Thanks!

The ATLANTIS all access (aquaventure) day pass for $120pp/$80kids includes the aquapark, slides, pools, beach and DIGS. It does not include Dolphin Cay or the CAIN pool nor any other paid experience.

The BEACH pass included ONLY the beach and DIGS.. ($70 I think).. it does not include pools, slides, lagoons or any other features.

The DIGS pass $40/30 included the DIGS aquarium and Predator Lagoon only .. it does not allow access to the grounds, gardens, lagoons, pools, slides or beaches.

  • 4 weeks later...

:DHI fellow Cruisers.........

I am reading everything you guys have to say but am still soooooooo confused.

I hear from friends who have been on Cruises to Atlantis that to do the "full on pass" is a waste of time because of the lines, etc............especially since my Cruise Gem 3/11-3/18 I am hearing is sold out with SPRING BREAKERS.........

I really want to explore the Aquarium and the Beach -- and would love to see some dolphins.

Experts -- please ((((HELP))) which is the right way to go for us so that we are not wasting our hard earned money??

Thank you in advance.

Christine

Well, I've been doing some digging in the past couple of weeks and this is what I have come up with......sounds like Atlantis is going to be a nightmare if you are there during spring break. Our cruise is going to be the one right after yours, nandosgirl, so I think we're going to get the tail end of it. For that reason, I am very reluctant to do Atlantis, although NCL does offer a beach day excursion to Atlantis that includes the aquariums but not the pools or waterpark. Another thought is to do the Blue Lagoon beach day-which is quite a bit cheaper than Atlantis- although NCL does not offer that (only the dolphin encounter) so you would have to book through a reseller like bestonbahamas.com If you do the BL beach day you can still see the dolphins even if you don't do the encounter. At present, I am also terribly confused and have no idea what we are going to do. Good luck!

Hi Scubagirrl - How about September? We want to visit Atlantis 2nd week of September and the ship sponsored all access tour is so expensive. Think we will have any trouble getting a day pass without going through ship excursion? Also - is it safe to travel by taxi to Atlantis?

Thanks!

Not to add to the confusion, but . . .

I actually do not think that the cruise Atlantis packages are that pricey. But let me explain why.

I was just at Atlantis with my DH (business conference), and everything is expensive there. I think the added convenience of the transportation included PLUS the meal vouchers, might make it worth buying through the cruise ship. I was hoping that by already being at Atlantis, I would have been given the option to purchase a less expensive day pass for our July cruise, but no luck. And while we were there, the day pass desk was in the Beach Tower, and not in the Royal Towers, which is a good 15 minutes (or more) walk from each other.

I will say that if you choose to go, you should study the layout of the resort. It is HUGE, and it takes about 45 minutes to walk from one end to another. And the Aquaventure items are not side by side. You will lose tons of time just trying to determine the starting place for each slide, pool, lazy river, etc. It is really a bit ridiculous. (But pretty.)

Our ship is only at port for 5.5 hours, which really doesn't make the Atlantis trip worth it, but I feel certain that we will still go, because of the kids.

So we'll be there for and be able to enjoy the aquaventure for 5 hours. It's just the two of us. Do you think that's long enough since we're going in the slow season?

Also I'm assuming buying the passes on site it credit card only or do they except cash?

Thank you so much for this thread...it is clearing up some questions I have had!

We are taking our first cruise in Jan and this stop was on our wishlist.

I have a few additional questions to add if its ok?

Would late Jan be considered off season? Would we be likely able to get a walk-in day pass since our ship is not into port until 1pm...is it worth it for a family of 5, if the slides/pools close at 5/6?

Also, I have the same question as the original poster HUBison2008 - what is the best way to exit the ship as early as possible at port?

Thanks!! great points. I took your advise and pre-booked through the ship! Didn't want to take a change that I would miss out altogether.

Jan is off season and can be quite cool.

If you're ship gets in at 1, you won't be on the property until 2.. and the slides start closing at 4:30.. pools at 5pm.

SOOOO not worth the $$ in my book.. but also.. the possibilitiy of not being comfortable enough to enjoy the day in the water.

Only a handful of pools are heated at Atlantis.. and the slides can get quite chilly in the winter months.

Just check the events calandar as your date approached. if it's not a concert or pagent date you should be able to get passes at the front desk.

If there is an event.. you might have to rent a room in order to get access.. and sections of the property will be off limits to the general masses.

As for things to do.. no much for teens or kids. marina village is about the only thing available. Casino is off limites to kids as well

Should be a safe bet if there's not a concert or event.

Keep an eye on the calendar of events at Atlantis.

taxi's, ferries etc are safe. ferries stop running at 6.

Bridge gets backed up at rush hour (4:30 - 6:40pm) so leave some extra time to get back to the ship.. the 10 minute drive can take a good part of an hour.

We were there last week, here's what we did: Booked a room at Comfort Suites on Atlantis property, we took a cab $4 pp and $2 toll over to Comfort checked -in received our cards walked over to Royal Towers got in Aquaventures line got bracelets and went to the waterpark. We walked around the dig, an aquarium, walked around the Hotel a bit. Super Easy!

Our Cab driver's name was "Slim" he gave us a card and came back at 4:00 like we asked.

Hi Everyone- My BFF and I just went on a cruise (NCL Epic) the 1st week in Feb. We decided to take the cruise excursion to Atlantis. We selected the beach adventure. It was AWESOME. We laid on the beach and drank diet coke (NCL has Pepsi). Doing it through the boat, we were guaranteed to get back in time, but it did take 1 hour to get back. I hit the ATM in town and got back on the boat. We ate while we were there - it was good but expensive. Hope this helps.

Did you book directly thru Comfort Suites? How much was it?

The rate for a room at Comfort Suites would depend on the date you choose and if there are any sales/ specials etc. Its just like booking a room at any other hotel. Prevailing rates. A max of 4 ppl are allowed in a room.

Remember.. the base rate is for 2 ppl, Must have one adult 21 years or older in each room. 18% Room Tax. Energy surcharge: 13.95 per person per night. Housekeeping gratuities: 5.00 per person per night

These are additional charges not included in nightly estimated total and must be paid directly at the hotel. Persons 16 and older are charged as adults. 3rd/4th person charged 40.00 per night + tax and service charges.

I checked price for Comfort Suites for Easter Week and it was more or less the price the ship is charging for the waterpark excursion when you added it up for 4 people. Comfort charges extra for each additional person etc.

Easter week is probably highest rate season so your mileage may vary. You can price a room online with them. Look at the extra charges very carefully. They do add up.

So it wouldn't be worth it for us either since we'll be there at 12 and on the property for 4 hours. $240 for two people for 4 hours, no so much. Sigh
