We did an independent tour with Julio tours to Leon. Since we had a van full, it was $50 each. Leon has a few interesting sites and Julio has interesting stories from his time as a Sandinista. The cathedral in Leon is very large for the size of the city and you can actually go up on the whitewashed roof for views of the city and surrounding volcanoes. The local market is pretty typical of Latin America.

Corinto itself is a pretty small town and the primary means of transportation is the pedicab. There is a beach, but it is not too enticing. You can also take a tour to Chinendega which is closer than Leon, but I have not been there.
