Car Rentals Near Tender Pier in Cannes

There are no rental car companies at the pier. However, you can take a 25 min walk right through the heart of Cannes (or take a taxi) and get yourself to either Hertz or Europcar...both of whom are open on Sunday mornings (I believe Hertz closes at noon, but you can still drop the car).

Hank, Have you ever heard of Car Rental 8? They are car hire brokers. I am renting in Cannes next summer and they quoted me a prepaid price of $48E with Europcar with an additional $10E for cancellation protection. This is considerably less than the Europcar web site and I'm not sure if these type of companies are legit. Under terms and conditions it mentions they can change their published fares due to increases in taxes. Have you ever dealt with any of these types of companies in Europe? The other quotes I received were directly from Avis and Sixt for around $80E for the day. Europcar was $128E.

We will be tendering into Cannes on a Sunday. Are there any car rental agencies close to the pier where you get off the tender boats?

We were last year in Cannes.

The local tourist information recommends this company:

It's 5 minutes away from the parking in front of the tender terminal:

Thanks for the additional info. This is another company that wants you to prepay the rental with no money back for cancellations. The price was great though at $48E. I'll probably book with one of the companies like Avis who you do not have to prepay, then as I get closer to the cruise and know my plans are definite, I'll book with this one. I like the idea of a short walk from the tender dock.

Here you can see in my blog how you get to AVIS.

But as far as I know you just can walk-in and get a car (if you do not need something specific).

We do not know this particular company, but are big believers in using the various "consolidators" that can get discount rates. Most of those companies are very legit (do a little internet research) and we have used one based in Greece. The "tax" clause is pretty normal for Europe.
