NCL Chocolate Buffet

I'm booked for the Norwegian Getaway for Sept 2015, and I've heard a lot about the Chocolate Buffet on NCL ships. Does anyone know if Getaway does the Chocolate Buffet, and if so, if there's a particular night when it happens? I would hate to miss it!

I'm afraid you have already missed it! As far as I know, NCL has stopped doing the chocolate buffet. I'm not sure if it was ever offered on the Getaway. You can ask on the NCL board for all the details :)

Sadly many of the cruise lines have given up the dessert extravaganza buffets.

When we sailed last year on the Dawn. We were told that the reason the chocolate buffet was canceled was because of the teen age crowd. Apparently some of them would get in there and destroy the presentation. It must have been a fairly common occurrence for NCL to cancel it. That's what we were told anyway.

I don't recall the chocolate buffet on the NCL Jade last December.

From what I've read, instead of the chocoholic buffet they now have a chocoholic night during the cruise. They have a list of chocolate desserts, and they are available in every dining room and specialty restaurant onboard that night. I'm not sure what they do at the buffet dinner the same evening, but I'm guessing they have more chocolate desserts than usual as well.

We were on the breakaway last year and I do recall that they had it.

Carnival was/is known for them and the presentations were beautiful....but.....a true chocoholic would be sorely disappointed. Flavor was akin to those awful chocolate bunnies you pick up at the 99 cent store....yuck!
