Hotels in Miami /south beach area

Looking for recommendation on a hotel in either Miami or South Beach. prefer close to the gay nightlife or a gay friendly beach. Cruising in November and will be spending a couple nights before we sail.

We spent 3 nights at The Shepley in June.

A small hotel in a traditional art deco building, just one block from the beach (close to the gay section of the beach).

Whilst the hotel doesn't have a bar or restaurant, you're close to plenty of local bars and restaurants (avoid the pricey Ocean Drive, and head to Espanola Way or Lincoln Road Mall). A complimentary buffet continental breakfast is provided.

What the hotel lacks in facilities, it more than makes up for with excellent friendly service. They provide towels and chairs for use on the beach, and the free wifi was fast and reliable. The interior design is stunning too!

We have stayed at the Avalon and the Colony on Ocean Drive and been pleased with both. Close to all of the action, places to eat and near the gay section of the beach across from the Palace. You can snag a good priced room at hotels dot com. Just put South Beach as your desired location.
