WWII museums in Malta

Recommended Posts

We just returned from a great Med cruise on Silhoutte. We had a wonderful tour at the Lacaris War Museum on in Valletta. Be sure to take the guided tour. The guide's father was one of the men who dug the rooms. It was a wonderful tour. The museum is near the famous gardens in the center of town. There are several signs along the walk down to it. We also found the WWII museum at St. Elmo in Valletta, but it closed Sept. 22 for renovation. I will also mention the WWII in Catania under the Italy port section.

We also enjoyed our tour of the Lascaris War Rooms, a bit comparable to the Churchill War Rooms in London. The guide there if terrific.

You did not miss that much at St. Elmo's; with no a/c, it is too hot to spend much time there. Hopefully the renovations will help.
