HMC - Clamshells & Excursions

We're headed down to the Caribbean for the first time next month. We've reserved a clamshell at HMC and we've also signed up for the horseback riding excursion. Just curious if there's any issue with leaving the clamshell for a couple of hours then returning? Pretty much what I'm asking is... do we have to be concerned about "squatters?"

Once you rent it, it's yours....I wouldn't go to far away and leave valuable stuff in it, tho! And, if you're leaving for a while, tell a neighbor that you'll be back in a bit....that way, should someone try to "squat", the neighbor can say that someone has rented it!

Do you rent the clamshells in advance? I thought it was only the cabanas that can be rented in advance.

You can rent the clamshells in advance as well. At least on Holland America you can, they are listed with the excursions.
