We really like the beach that the cruisers with Suites (Gold cards) can visit in Labadee. My question is can a non gold card cruiser rent one of the cabanas on this beach??

TIA

No - they are for the suite guests at Barefoot Beach only. However you can rent cabanas on the adjacent Nellies Beach. They are for non-suite guests at that beach.

Thank you for the quick response. That is what I thought but needed evidence for my better half.

When I was there in October I paid for a hillside cabana on Nellies Beach. I was one of the 1st people to the station to check in for a cabana and I was given given an gold band with upgrade to a hillside cabana on Barefoot Beach with the upgrade lunch without even asking for it. I don't know if it was because I was one of the 1st people to show up or what, but it was great!

The gold band for access for lunch at Barefoot (at least last year as well as last week in our experience) is provided to those renting cabanas at Nellies as well. However access is for lunch only and not for use of the beach. The Nellie's cabana attendant escorts you there. Can't answer as to why you were moved to a cabana at Barefoot - that sounds unusual.

We had full access to barefoot beach. I couldn't tell you why but it worked for us!

I'm sorry... I've read several threads and haven't yet seen pricing for the Nellie's & Barefoot cabanas. Can anyone give an indication?

Also - does anyone know if the pricing is the same whether RC or Celebrity?

Is Barefoot exclusive to Suites on Celebrity also or will Concierge Level be allowed?

Thanks so much!

I can only speak for RCI - the pricing is $250 on Nellie's for an Over The Water Cabana, while I believe it is $225 for Beach and Hillside (not sure if Hillside is $250 or $225). Nellie's cabanas are available to all cruisers and can be booked in advance on the website under excursions. Make sure to only choose one person in your cruise party when booking, as the price and reservation is just for one cabana. Choosing more than one person during checkout causes the site to have issues.

As for Barefoot Beach Cabanas, these are for Suite guests and are booked through the Concierge. I believe the pricing is the same though. You can email your concierge in advance indicating you would like a cabana and what style, and they should be able to provide you with the info you need and make the reservation when appropriate.

Have fun!

If I get a cabana on the beach for my husband and I, do you know if there would be any trouble getting lounge chairs directly outside the cabana for the rest of the family? I'm not sure how it is set up.... is it away from others regularly lounging? If I got 2 cabanas, will they be right next to each other? Does anyone have a picture of the beach (not the water) and the hillside cabanas? Thank you.

On Royal we rented the cabana at Nellies....only ones available when we booked it

it cost 250...we were able to add dtr and bf as guests...not sure if limit was 4 or 6

Wondering about access to this beach if u do not rent a cabana...we saw folks on the beach with little "clam shells " to block sun....

It was a nice area for swimming but did have spiny sea urchins in the water near stairs to the cabana....

Basically the same as the regular buffet served across the island, though we only saw shrimp skewers two weeks ago. I may have just missed the steak. The food in general tasted bland and luke warm. The one upshot was the line there was MUCH shorter than the other spots.

I have an over the water rented for my April cruise. Do you have a specific place to check-in for your cabana or are you told on the ship which cabana you get?

Thanks.

You will go to the entrance to Barefoot Beach (regardless of whether you rented at Barefoot or Nellies). There's a little stand there where you'll check in and be escorted to your cabana.

I thought that lunch at Barefoot Beach is only for for full suite guest only?

When did that change? Since there was many discussions here on the board about those renting cabanas at Nellie's Beach did not have acess to the upgraded lunch buffet at Barefoot Beach.

You had to have booked the cabana before Oct. of 2013 to still be elligible for the upgraded buffet.

When we were there a few years ago, we had to check in just inside the gate at the end of the dock. Then a golf cart took us over to Nellies. Has this changed now? Just curious because we have another cabana booked for March next year and since my party considers me the "planner" I want to at least appear like I know what I'm doing when I get there.

Just booked a suite on Explorer of Seas for Oct. Thinking about reserving a Barefoot Beach cabana thru concierge but wondering.....for those who have, was the cost worth it? Even if only on- the- beach cabanas were left? Thanks in advance

I think it depends on what you consider "worth it". For us the amenities (upgraded lunch, bottled water, floats) were not really worth it, but a small area all to ourselves for the entire day made it worth it for us.
