It's surprising that they have taken so long to announce this as the Chinese announced they were chartering Shadow way back in May, and it would be perfectly understandable if people were fed up.

Jebsen will also charter Silversea Shadow from Silversea Cruises from late January next year until May 2017 to provide 10- to 14-day itineraries within Asia. “The high end cruise line with 180 all-suite cabins will be homeported at Shekou from February 11, 2017,” said Lim.

When word gets out, I imagine there will be an endless (almost) thread from disgruntled SS cruisers. The Shadow has been chartered for 3 months, yup 3 months, in early 2017. Let the grousing begin![emoji568][emoji53]

We were booked on the April 5th, HKG-HKG. SS offered an additional 40% discount over our costs for a 2016 cruise or an extra 20% for 2017 voyage. We had not booked our air, so other than the disappointment, we found this quite reasonable.
