Thank you so much for more wonderful pictures.

I especially like the African Sea Eagle with his catch, and the Cape Gannet photo. A very large flock of them passed us on one of the sea days on Sojourn, and I hoped you'd be able to get a photo or two then.

Wish I'd met you on board, maybe next time!

Gorgeous photos Cliff!! Looking forward to another chat sometime.

After checking my photos the Red bird photo I took in Mauritius is different to your Red Bishop photo. Maybe you can help me identify my bird photo?

Thanks Julie

The bird you saw is most likely a Red Fody. Very common, and considered a pest by farmers. In Mauritius it is also called a Red Cardinal. It is actually in the weaver family and I saw numerous nests hanging in the trees, but never got a photo of one. I had wrong camera with me and tried to take photos of red-whiskered bulbul which were pretty common, but never got a keeper.

  • 2 weeks later...

I've been meaning to do this for ages.

As repayment for the Sojourn Christmas production stills...

Please don't ask for the names though, that's your job ;)

Feel free to pinch them off photobucket if you want to put them anywhere.
