Grand Princess - Any Cabins that should be avoided?

Some help please, we are looking at a christmas cruise on the Grand and have left it quite late so we are quite limited on cabins, we havent decided yet what type we are going to go for yet, we normally go for an oceanview, however price for a balcony and minisuites are coming up quite reasonable, balconies are on Aloha front, outside (these are coming up in the area we normally go for, but on Emerald, not sure if there are any disadvantages of this deck) and the mini's are also forward on Lido deck, we were recently on the Star and had foward cabins on Plaza which were exceptionally noisy, we are tempted to have a mini, but if these cabins are terrible would rather not shell out the extra and stick with a ocean view with less problems,

Cheers ;)

Some people have reported being bothered by noise of the deck chairs being moved around above them when they've had balcony cabins on the Aloha Deck underneath the pool areas. If you want to save some money, the obstructed view cabins on the Emerald Deck are a great location.

The mini suites are only on Dolphin and Emerald decks. The mini suites on Dolphin have completed uncovered balconies (no shade, no privacy). The mini suites on Emerald deck are completely covered. I too would avoid booking a cabin below the pool or buffet areas because it can be noisy.

Sorry my mistake, you are right, Lido deck is balconies  going goggle eyes looking at this lol x

We are also looking at the posibilty of doing the Xmas/New Year on the Grand, not sure what the availabilty is like but certainly you cant go wrong if the price is right to look at a balcony on either Baja or Caribe deck, that is what we always try to go for.

some of the balcony cabins on Caribe deck(I think in the 520's) have bunk beds above. On this ship, the lower beds can only be twins (even if you don't use uppers) and no night stands. We were assigned one and it said it right on the booking. We changed cabins. Not all quads are like that.

Have just returned from Grand Princess and had balcony on Caribe 610. Would not have this again as it has a very noisy drain on the balcony. Looking down on the mini suite below they also had drain so presume above also. It did not spoil our cruise we used to laugh about it, but would avoid this in future. Betty

Can you tell me which cabins you had on the star and what the nature of the noise was? Theater, or below deck?
