Cruise Critic Chris said that Whim Mueseum was open when cruise ships in port. According to an e-mail from a representative it is NOT open on Sundays even when cruise ships are in port. Another cruiser indicated she had also received an email stating the same thing.

That was me who posted - I sure do wish they were open on a Sunday.

As I mentioned, I asked the tourism people directly if it was open and they gave me wrong information. This happens occasionally, particularly if a destination knows that Sundays are difficult for cruisers. We will update the information in our port profile.

Thanks Let us know if you hear anything. I guess it may just have to be a beach day. Do you know if the shuttle they say goes from the dock area to Christiansted will run on Sundays. We may just go there and walk around and look at things if the shuttle runs on Sundays and then do the afternoon at the beach.

Whim has had a rough couple years financially and as a result they have closed on Sundays. I was speaking with a volunteer there yesterday though and thanks to a little help from our new governor they are hoping to be able to reopen for the ships before the end of this season. I will update here if that actually happens!
