Pools and hot tubs

I've noticed a few references on other threads about people wanting to swim at night or some ships hsving 24/7 pools and fresh water versus salt water pools and this has got me wondering what are the pools like on Celebrity ( particularly Century). Do they close unusually early? Are they salt or fresh water.(and is one better than another?)

I'm planning to cruise on celebrity for the first time this fall and just wonder how the pool experience will compare with NCL and Royal Caribbean.

Every X ship we've been on in the past year and a half, the outdoor pools have closed at 8 pm. One new wrinkle on Mercury earlier this month -- the hot tubs were open till 9. (on previous cruises, they too had closed at 8) The thalassotherapy pool in the spa on Mercury (costs $ unless you're in a suite or toplevel Captain's Club) was open till 11 pm. BTW outdoor pools are salt water. Hot tubs are desalinated to some degree.
