Freeport-anything close to pier?

We will be on Carnival Pride Sept. and our stop in Freeport is hardly worth doing an excursion ( 7:00-1:30). We would like to get off the ship and was hoping there are shops or a straw market close to ship- Would give us some "land" time but we could get back to ship quickly. Seems a waste to book something for such a short period of time.

Any input would be helpful!

We did the perfume and brewery tour and it was well worth it.

There are some stalls and small shops at the port, but nothing notable.

Thank you.

Was really hoping that we could skip an excursion here but I'll check them out.

I thought it might be like some ports where you can walk around close to the ship and maybe even get a drink/beer.

the freeport pier is basically a large compound . It has restaurants, bars and many types of gift and trinket shops.

there is basically nothing else close to the pier unless you take a taxi into the town of freeport. Caution freeport is a spread out city.
